who would have thought that a group that has world cup finalists france and italy in it would be led by scotland after 9 games..
I know the french were tense about this scotland side since they had lost the first leg, but they lost in the second leg as well.
pretty impressive for a team that had to survive by its wits and sense of humour. I remember a few world cups ago they were going to play some south american team and the manager for that team took a jab at them by saying that scots play a medieval type of football where they kick the ball in the D and then its everyman for himself type of war like situation.
the reporters relayed the big diss to teh scottish manager and he just chuckled and said " well I guess he must have seen us play"
to me that is still one of the funniest responses i have heard in world cup.
