Euro 2008:

The Euro 2008 will be start on the 7th June 2008. Below is a group of teams:

Group A
Czech Republic
Portugal
Switzerland
Turkey

Group B
Austria
Croatia
Germany
Poland

Group C
France
Italy
Netherlands
Romania

Group D
Greece
Russia
Spain
Sweden

Group C looks the most difficut.

Who do you think will be the winners this time and players who will be the stars of the tournament or looking forward to seeing play?

For me the winners are likely to come from: France, Spain, Italy and Germany. I personally like to see Spain win, but there is a every possibility that there may be surprise winner as was the case with Greece.

Players looking forward to seeing / stars of the tournament: Karim Benzema, Samir Nasri, Frank Ribery, Hatem Ben Arfa, Torres, Fabregas

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switerzland

My monies are on Croatia. They look solid at the back and going forward they have some talent.

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

go turkey. although i don't watch soccer and only watch it if its a super duper world cup clash/finals stages.

In every Euro/World Cup there is a group of death. Group C looks the toughest. Most likely France and Italy will qualify from this group

England walay iss thread say door hi rahay to accha hai!:D

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

Pur yahan to aik walendezi ko chor kar saray hi angrez hain!

Do you honestly believe that most desis living in England support England in sport? Though I don't really like the Aussies that much because of their arrogance, during an Ashes series in England I find myself reluctantly supporting Australia. I think it's partly to do with how the media and esp. tabloids go bonkers here after every win. If they win one game they think they have conquered the whole world. The hype post Ashes win in 2005 was a stark reminder of that. It just puts me off supporting England.

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

May to mazaq kur raha tha! I know that.

I am surprised by their abscence in Euro - they even failed to qualify this time. Last time Rooney was being posed as Neo Pele' and they failed miserbly in 2004.

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

does n e one know wat time (EST) is it starting, and if n e one knows wat channel in Toronto is showing it. :k:

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

wow…look @ group C

also, no england and no denmark! what happened?

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

england lost to croatia in qualify.

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

That's the interest for the Euro 2008 lol

Results:

*Switzerland - Czech Republic 0:1 *

Portugal - Turkey 2:0

Re: Euro 2008: Austria-Switzerland

switzerland managed to keep czech at bay for most of the game…kudos to them…czech could’ve certainly done much better…they weren’t as impressive…

portugal’s game plan was great and their consistent attacks managed to get them the breakthrough…turkey got a couple of chance but they couldn’t capitalize on it…good game nonetheless…

1st game today is Austria VS Croatia - Croatia should win…
2nd game is Germany VS Poland - Germany should win

can’t wait for tomorrow though…Netherlands VS Italy!! :k: :k:
