Partytiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime!!! WOoohooooooo

:bhangra: :bhangra:

**Final scores:

Czech Repl. 2-1 Germany
Holland 3-0 Latvia**

Now wherez Xtreme with his “I told you so?”

It did NOT go wrong. Holland are through derservingly. Germans are out. Even a second string Czech side was too good for Germans.

Shinoo, Brace yourself for a Holland-England semifinal. Now, THAT would be awesome!!

Final score
Holland 3-0 Latvia
Czech Republic 2-1 Germany

I think the Czech Republic will do the nation of Germany a huge favor today by holding out its best players. Look for Germany to come out with passion and dominate the Czechs. Holland will clobber Latvia but it will be too late.

Perhaps England v Germany on the cards?

Atleast parts of your statements were correct. Germany did play with passion but unfortunately passion is not enough. I mean how can you not even score against Latvians. They seriously need to think over their over all tactics of playing football. Gone are the days when Klinsmann and Mathius (sp?) and even Voller used to haunt the oppositions with their devestating football.

Atleast Italy went out honourably. Haaye, Italy sighs

Holland could have won 5-0 or 6-0 but Latvian keeper was awesome. They have had so many chances but he denied them every time. Roy Makaay scored after coming on, they have got too much talent sitting on the benches.

Czech republic is the only team to get maximum points in group stages, if I m not wrong. They are seding most dangerous vibes to the likes of France and England.

hmmm...........i was thinking of having an all-included dinner at the restaurant of the Hilton hotel :whistling

I suppose that the germans have forgotten their art of taking a fall, I mean pretty much any german match and you would see one of their players lying down somewhere on the field every 2 minutes. Voeller was particularly good at taking dives.

this current team is bad at both..the mechanical precision of klinsman and matthaes and the diving of the rest of the team.

ok, the first part of "Operation Rooney's exit" is done. Now Figo and co should beat England and all will be fine. If for some obscure reason Portugal lose, then i have good hope Holland will tackle this problem sufficiently in the semis.

Nessie High Five!!
Thora to rehm karro :stuck_out_tongue:
How about an icecream?

:dhimpak: :dhimpak: :dhimpak:

Well played Holland. Germany didnt deserve to be in the quarter finals. :k:

Congrats Nes and Shinzy, I guess the Czechs bailed you out big time…in truth I am happy for two reasons:

  1. I can’t bring myself to liking the krauts no matter what the situation.

  2. I can’t wait to knock out Holland in the semis. Oh what a day that will be :bhangra:

p.s. asuming Holland don’t get knocked out by Sweden that is.

X, u gotta admit, there's a better chance of Portugal beating the daylights out of England than Sweden winning from Holland

Xtreme, England is first. They have the Portugese crowd against them tomorrow.

We can handle the Swedes :hula: :hula: :hula:

Yahoooooo!!!

The krauts got whooped! Damn, they’re terrible! They had the ball for most of the game and nothing.. all those corner kicks and nothing. Those guys seriously need to relax.. Oh well, it was fun watching the faces of all these germans as they were losing
:dixsi:

Now the Dutch have to make it to the finals. And hopefully the French will get booted before then just coz I’ll be in Paris on the 4th and don’t want to put up with victory celebrations or riots.

I hate to mention it but Holland failed to beat the lousiest German team in history…something that Czech reserves managed comfortably :help:

Anyway, there’s a thread about the quarter finals up I’ll reveal all about Eng v Portugal there.

Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

Germany is out!

Yippiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiie!

Germany coach Voeller resigns](http://uk.sports.yahoo.com/040624/2/4ln2.html)

ALMANCIL, Portugal (Reuters) - Germany coach Rudi Voeller has resigned after the three-times world and European champions were knocked out of Euro 2004.

Germany drew their first two group matches, including a 0-0 result with debutants Latvia, before going down to the Czech Republic 2-1 on Wednesday in Group D. The Czechs were playing their second string team.

The 44-year-old Voeller said the national side needed a new start before the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

“I have the feeling that only someone who is untarnished and has a certain credibility – like I had four years ago – can do the job over the next two years,” he told a news conference.

Voeller told team officials overnight and they had asked him not to make a hasty decision.

“He told us it was not a spur-of-the-moment decision taken just after the game. We regret this decision very much but we have to accept it,” said German federation president Gerhard Mayer-Vorfelder.

Voeller had a contract until the World Cup in 2006. His predecessor, Erich Ribbeck, resigned after Germany were knocked out of the 2000 European Championship in the first round.

Ottmar Hitzfeld, recently sacked by Bayern Munich, is favourite to replace Voeller. Greece manager Otto Rehhagel and Christoph Daum of Turkey’s Fenerbahce are also in the frame.

A World Cup winner as a player in 1990, Voeller restored Germany’s pride with a surprise run to the 2002 World Cup final where they lost to Brazil.

POOR RUN-UP

Germany struggled to qualify for Euro 2004 and suffered a poor run-up to the tournament, including a 5-1 thrashing by Romania.

Voeller was jeered by German fans after the Czech defeat and was close to tears in the post-match news conference.

“There was too little yesterday,” Voeller said, referring to the match. "I had it in my head already that I would probably not go on.

"It would be fatal to hang on to the job and carry on regardless. “I told the players last night ‘Life goes on’.”

Voeller is the first coach to fall on his sword at the European Championship. However, the coaches of two other traditional powers who were knocked out in the first round, Spain and Italy, could lose their jobs in the next 36 hours.

Inaki Saez, the coach of Spain, has tendered his resignation, according to media. Italy coach Giovanni Trapattoni could have his contract ended when his country’s soccer federation meets on Friday.

The quarter-finals of Euro 2004 start on Thursday with the game between hosts Portugal and England.

^ Good. Now I won't have to see Rudi on any more of those corny commericals. If only we could do something about Oliver Kahn...

Hehe.. sounds like Rudi expected the loss before the game.

WOW - what a match between Germans and Czech side - AWESOME GOAL BY BALLACK with left foot - and incredible equalizer by Heinz.

you know i wasn't gonna say this but i am - this was the game for the Germans to win - they choked big time.... their D let them down, and Kahn wasn't on his A game.

No doubt that this was Germany's best game of the tournament - with all their chances - especially in the second half it was kind of unlucky how Germany was put out of the EURO 2004 - Ballack's shot at the post, Podolski and Kuranyi also had nice chances - i m sure that if Germany would have scored the lead in the second half then they would still be in the Tournament - but there are no if's in soccer.

that said - disappointing for Germans but the way Deustchland played them - they didn't deserve to move on.

i don't see anyone beating Czech - Euro Cup is for Czech to take - and THEY WILL!
