The fact that I have money riding on the Czechs is beside the point, top match as good as Nigeria vs Brazil in the '96 olympics.

What an amazing game of football. Undoubtedly the best game of the championship so far. It seems every team who sits back and tries to defend the lead fails to do so and commentator rightly said that in this tournmanet fortune is favoring the brave. What a match.

Van der Mayde and Ruud missed two really easy chances, specially van der mayde one was the easiest one! Plus both teams hit the bar through Nedved and Davids!!

Absolutely brilliant match!! I haven't jumped up and down like that in front of the tele in quite a while.
I'm glad the Czechs won, although I think the referee was a bit harsh giving the Dutch player a red card. He also missed some a headlocks and other obvious grabbing of each other between both teams. Quite disappointing.
Czecks had very good footie skills ... very quick ... very impressive!
There last goal was simply amazing.... it was passed, what 3 times between the players before actually getting into the goal? There was no way the Dutch goalie could have stopped it.
if not one of the gr8test games ever played in a european championship, the game of the tournament thus far no ounce of doubt about it. holland were simply given a neat kick up the backside, and maybe just maybe once again their habit of cocking up @ the majors will haunt them.
this game had it all, quick passing, gr8 dribbiling by robben and some quality attacking football {and y was robben substituted by advocaat he was 1 of the players doing most of the work for holland} and for the czech’s nedved + baros + poborsky were mezmerizing.
holland’s 1st goal by bouma was al thanks to a quality free kick by robben which left the czech defence in cloudcokooland.
nistelrooy took his goal well and fair play to the linesman + referee for not judging him offside as correctly the ball wasn’t played to him but to robben @ the line of attack :k:
then a van bronkhorst mistake fed baros who withstood his ground powerfully against stam and fed the 6ft 5" giant koller to open the accout for czech republic.
then a ripper by milan baros of liverpool, wat a beauty u won’t c a finer build up and a nicer finish to a goal. the way koller chested the ball in milan’s path was amazing and then baros hit a sizzling beauty to square the odds @ 2-2.
pavel nedved the european footballer of the year 2003 was once again a class act and a handful for the dutch. he tormented the holland’s line of defence on many occassions and nearly made it 3-2 to the czech’s with a fine 35 yarder which dipped away from van der sar and hit the woodwork.
but it was the czech’s night and they sealed victory when karol poborsky neatly squared the ball for smicer to take the czech’s into the quarter finals of the european championships 2004.
now holland must beat latvia which they should and hope germany don’t beat the czech’s on wednesday i believe. it will be a close call and van nistelrooy knew that his face was stoned @ the final whistle. testing times in the dutch camp and if ur name is dick advocaat ur not a happy man.

nothing has changed, Holland are a bunch of pampered over-rated brats who throw the dummy out of their prams at the first sign of adversity. This lot haven’t played as a team for years and have had poor results against very mediocre sides. But they have nice orange shirts I’ll give them that :Pretty:

Really if you still say the dutch can’t play football then please take a closer look at your team (brits) I’d pick dutch football over english any day (and that’s not cuz I live in Holland)
They play attractive football and their matches are always exciting. SO what if they lost? it was a VERY close match and it could’ve gone to either team even when Holland was playing with 10. Czechz should win the EC in my opinion they were the best in the qualifing rounds and they’ve showed in the 2 matches they played in the EC that they deserve the title.
Now if only the brits get kicked out on Monday
There is no chance of the Brits getting kicked out on Monday Shinzy, they are organised, committed, a rock solid defence with goal threat coming from set plays, Owen’s lightning pace and Rooney providing a somewhat spotty ace in the pack.
I really hope Holland don’t get knocked out early…most of these threads will disappear for a start
