Greece deserved the win. Portugal just couldn't break through their defences. Overall, Portugal played badly today for some reason. Perhaps they were too nervous.

I will agree here but They achieved their aimed 1-0 results in knockout phases comfortably. That alone is applaudable.

It is applaudable yet I refuse to applaud it. Why? Because to applaud a spectacle you need spectators. This type of football would drive spectators from the game so instead I'll acknowledge it was an effective strategy...but really if I never see another Greece game again I don't think I'll have missed out.
^ My only fear is that more and more european coaches will get defensive seeing greeks performance. I hope that does not happen.

if you want to see flair, if you want to see skill and if you want to see edge of the seat stuff than follow the Copa cup starting next week. The South American teams will be on display and what a prspect that will be. The Brazilians, Argentinians, Venzuelans, columbians etc. all displaying their skills. Argentina are the current favourites to win. Current champions are Columbia.

I don't think so. To defend for vitually 90 mins isn't easy and Greece deserve some credit in that they are very good at it. England certainly couldn't do it though they tried.
The problem with such a strategy is that if you go behind there's no way of getting back into a game without offensive capability. Only limited teams like Greece can afford to go with such a game plan because they've got nothing to lose. It's sort of like Wimbledon winning the FA Cup.

well we cant say PORTUGAL played bad today because if seen statistically PORTUGAL outplayed greece shots on goal, posessession. corners won, and fouls totally portugal was all over and GREECE only had 1 shot on goal and that was enough to get them thru it was funny how they only had 1 shot on goal and they won the match whereas portugal had 9 
Unbelieveable.
Apparently its the first time a team has won the Qurters, Semis and Final without conceding a goal.
You have to admire them for making the most out of what they had.
Well it’s harder getting the ball past 10 men than it is against two. A side with not much talent can always stifle the game and hope to score with a set piece if they have a couple of guys good in the air (Wimbledon tactics).
It works in cup competitions but is found out in the long run.
shoulda bet on greece godDamnit! I'd be a millionaire but who'd have known... I have two very good friends... one Portugese and one Greek... its going to be interesting dynamics with them tomorrow.
That’s greece’s strategy. They let the other team completely dominate them in every department and then they utilize the chances that they get pretty effectivly. Looking at the stats for every game that greece played in the tournament, you might think that they can’t do any thing but stats like shots on goal etc doesn’t represent their team play.
1-0 vs. France in the Quarter Final
1-0 (silver goal) vs. Czech Republic in the Semi Final
1-0 vs. Portugal in the Final
This is, what you call efficiency.

Keeping in mind that they got about 4 legit chances ,at most, of scoring goals in each of those games, i think its ok to call their offence pretty efficient.
What would be the cricket equivalent of Greece winning yhe Euro Cup? Would Kenya winning a WC be of the same magnitude?
