EU has said is OK.But has Musharraf heard?Usne apne kaanon pe ear plug lagae hue hain.
Does EU dictate Pakistan's policies? Are we a doormat for the world?
Let's look at the larger issues here.
is EU going to declare US two term limit for presidents illegal now? or are they going to knock down the requirement that the president be a US citizen by birth?
how about EU just shut its trap and hand over the looted money and the "charged" criminals like benazir and that hasbeen jack ass Altaf Hussaein.
It would be a good test of Pakistani voter maturity if they could get past these personality cults and vote for the parties regardless of whether they are headed by some member of such and such family dynasty.
The opportunity is still there to vote for PPP and others as far as I'm aware.
EU only observes Elections in Pakistan but can't dictate Pakistan's policies.
Why should I vote for any party? they have not shared their plan with people. baray bol, "yeh kar daen gay, woh kar daen gay" does not cut it. I want to understand their platform merely saying this will bring democracy is not enough. earn my vote..tell me what is it that you are proposing, how are you different from the umpteen other parties.
Basically not just a manifesto, and an agenda, but a plan...what is important, how will they address it, how long will it take.
a plan dammit a plan..I dont care what they stand for, I care what they are committed to do and what they will do and have they thought out their plans and approaches. short term. what will they do within 90 days of getting in power, what about 6 months, a year, 2 years..
But then, I am not their target market. they are not interested in voters who will make an educated rational choice, they are appealing to the masses who will just blindly follow their battle cry because they have been brainwashed by their families, community or friends. I am an XYZ party supporter, I am an ABC party supporter...
then again, from a marketing perspective, why should political parties target a small group, they get the most bang from their buck by plastering the same old slogans year in year out and decade in decade out. someone is "looking out for the common man", someone is "saving islam" someone is "protecting the rights of insert ethnicity name here"
From what I have seen, read and researched, I would not vote for any of these parties.
These so called politicians (Benazir, Nawaz, Altaf) and No good Mulla's (Qazi Hussien, Fazl-ur Rehman, Nasr-Ullah, Samiul Haq, Noorani) are like hemorrhoids, no mater how hard you try to get rid of them they keep coming back by the blessings of EU, USA etc.

why dont we just elect some damn cartoons as our leaders..bugs maybe, or daffy. they will be better than the usual cartoons we see parading, banner waving and whimpering to foriegn press.

EU Want To Re-establish Colonialism
The E U want to re-establish their colonial rule through cheats and criminals inn the Third World. Why does Britian give 'Political Assylum' to all political criminals? Do they elect criminals to head the government in their own countries? Pakistanis should wake up and 'smell the coffee'!
Musharraf Reminds Observers of Their Role :hehe:
MIRPUR: The European Union observers should restrict their role to monitoring of elections and avoid making any remarks on political environment of the country,:mad2: said President General Pervez Musharraf on Monday
“They did not know about the political culture of the country and see Pakistani political culture from the eyes of the British system,” he said while talking to newsmen after the inaugural ceremony of the supply of Sui gas to Mirpur in Azad Jummu and Kashmir here Monday.
He said the government has extended full assistance to international observers in their visit to any polling station throughout the country. “We have assured them of security on elections day and the army would also be involved in their security so that they could visit the polling station anywhere in the country,” he added.
He said the Japanese prime minister has also shown desire to send a team of observers for monitoring the elections.** “The Japanese team is likely to arrive before the election and we will
also provide them with all assistance to monitor the elections throughout the country,”** he added.
He said the elections bring stability and continuation of economic reforms in the country. “The elections will change the political culture and bring new leadership in the country and people will reject the personal and family political culture,” he added.
When asked that different political parties have vowed to flat the deregulation policies and freeze the electricity and gas tariffs, the president said, “if they flat the tariffs, they would stop all the development works. When they are outside the government, they did not see the realities but after coming into power they realise what action is good for the country.” He said, “It is very difficult to govern the country and it is more difficult to govern the country like Pakistan.”
Musharraf said the only way to eradicate the poverty from the country is the revival of the economy and the present government has taken every step to revive the economy.
**“The economic revival did not come in days but took some time and I am confident that due to reforms initiated by the government, the results will be seen within next two years,” **he added. The president said due to the government steps, the country would come out of debt trap in next two years.
Earlier addressing the inaugural ceremony of supply of Sui Gas to Mirpur President General Pervez Musharraf said India must realise that there is no other option other than negotiation to resolve the Kashmir. “India should enter dialogue with Islamabad to move towards the resolution of this longstanding issue,” he said.
He said the sooner India realise the need for addressing the issue through talks, the better it would be for the two countries, for regional stability and world peace. He said Kashmiris must get their right to self-determination. “We would continue to provide them political, moral and diplomatic support,” :biggthumb: he added. The president said all Indian attempts to pressurise Pakistan have failed and any such attempt in future is also bound to fail.
He said the government has worked out a comprehensive plan for supply of gas to rural and far-flung areas of Pakistan as well as Azad Jummu and Kashmir.
He said under the programme compressed gas stations would be set up in the rural and far-flung areas from where gas would be supplied through pipelines. “The Thar coal in Sindh, which is the biggest deposit in the world, is being developed with the Chinese cooperation,” he added.
He said the Chinese government readily agreed to his request in this regard and work is in progress on the project. “The latest technology is also being used to convert the coal deposit into gas,” he added.
Musharraf said the furnace oil-based power plants are being converted into coal and gas to reduce $ 1 billion expenditure being incurred on imports of oil. He said these programmes would also accelerate the country’s economic growth and poverty alleviation programme.
The president said the supply of environment-friendly fuel to the people of Mirpur is another contribution of the present government to the development of Azad Jummu and Kashmir that would send positive signals across the Line of Control.
Referring to demands of AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hyat Khan, Musharraf said the government has decided to phase out foker fleet of the PIA replacing it with aircraft of more capacity. “The new aircraft being assessed for induction and with the inclusion of the new fleet the government would consider operating air service at Muzaffarabad, Kotli and Mirpur route,” he added.
He said the financial health of the PIA has improved and first time in many years the airlines has earned Rs 2.5 billion profit. The president said work on Gwadar port is in full swing and the project is expected to be completed in 30 months instead of earlier estimates of 36 months.
AJK Prime Minister Sardar Sikandar Hyat Khan said inauguration of three development projects in one day including raising of Mangla Dam, provision of Sui gas to Mirpur and opening of Mirpur Radio Station reflect commitment of the Pakistan government to the development of the Azad Kashmir.
He said in occupied Kashmir,** the Indian government is spending only on defence related projects while the Pakistan government is taking keen interest in welfare of the people of Azad Kashmir.**
Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Usman Aminuddin said $ 70 million investment has been made on off-shore and on-shore oil and gas exploration. He hoped that Pakistan would struck major oil and gas discovery very soon and the efforts were also being made to increase the domestic oil production.
He said 500 more CNG stations would be set up in the country within the next two years. He dispelled the rumours that gas pipeline for Mirpur would submerged under water from raising of Mangla Dam saying that the pipeline passes 6 kilometres away from the project.
The Managing Director of the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) Abdul Rashid Lone said the project to supply gas to Mirpur has been completed in one year at the cost of Rs 320 million equally shared by the Pakistan and AJK governments.
