Re: Etymology of name
lusi ...you just want the translation of your name? or the history of it?
Re: Etymology of name
i know what it means but i want the history behind, i mean i know the first part of my name is a part of one of the 99 names of Allah but i can’t find anythhing about the other part of my name and like how my name formed. Even when I look online for the 1st part of my name, it only gives the one word meaning and nothing else about it. :(… am i making sense? ![]()
Re: Etymology of name
does ul-ain means “of eyes” or “something that belongs to you”?
wikepedia has wrong meaning of “ain” :halo:
Re: Etymology of name
of eyes.
Re: Etymology of name
Light of the eyes or something? shrug
Re: Etymology of name
the same “ain” in arabic means eyes and also “springs” (fresh-water springs)…
but the “ain” ni names is usually eyes, like qurrat-ul-ain (meaning the coolness of the eye), noor-al-ain (light of the eye), rahat-ul-ain (pleasure of the eys)…

Like Bahr Ain lol.> Bahar of the Eyes. I wonder if Bahrain was named cuz of that :D.
Re: Etymology of name
^ well the "ain " we were talking about is wrriten with "ain-yay-noon" whereas the "-ain" at the end of bahrain is just "yay-noon", which is used to denote "two"....
so bahrain means "two seas", just like walidain means (two parents i.e. father and mother)....
Re: Etymology of name
I agree to ARM that is derived actually from behr tanain.
