Good news for the telecommunication market in Pakistan and generally a good sign of improving infrastructure.
Etisalat is to spend around $500m expanding Pakistan’s telephone network and plans are in place to boost both mobile and fixed line provision, reported Bloomberg. The telco outfit’s Chairman Mohammed Hassan Omran said around 10m mobile lines were being readied and additional capacity would be added later. Etisalat has a 26% stake in Pakistan Telecom.
