Yes, I agree. this is the first time I saw Carrey in such a role. He always played someone crazy, with a big mouth etc. This was weird at first and suprising how good he pulled it of. I never thought he would ever be oscar material.
And that script is so original and surprising.

What was so wonderful, was also that after forgetting each other, they meet each otehr again and where do they meet each other again for the first time since having their memories erased? At that same beach where they had originally met!

This movie is on my to-watch list. If I can only find time and drag myself to Blockbuster. I love the movie’s theme song, sung by The Polyphonic Spree ( http://www.paklinks.com/gs/journal.php?do=showjournal&j=105&page=4&pp=10 ). I actually didn’t know this movie even existed. The P-Spree song is also the theme song for PBS (or used to be). I searched for it and found the video to this movie, strange coincidence.
Regarding Kate Winslett, I think she is stunningly beautiful and extemely talented. The week following Ashley Simpson’s flub on SNL (chicken dance), Kate Winslett opened SNL. She did a (live) song and dance routine and she was replendent with talent! I was floored.

A very very impressive movie... Have seen this 3 times... Crazzy about Jim and Kate actings and her hair colours too ; )
The character of Jeol is very well illustrated...In scenes I liked "Honeymoon on the ice" and "Good bye (the last one at sea shore)" the most... Clementine (Kate's character) made me remember the girl in Gulzar's 'Ijazat'
there is a flaw in movie When they both reach Joel's childhood to hide in and clem is acting like his Aunty they have shown a size difference in Joel and Clem but when she also moves under table she just seems equal to Joel who is acting as child : p
BUT whatevva **** its a MUST MUST watch *****

the script was very unique. I was laughing when Carrey went back to his childhood memory and Winslet is playing the babysitter 
It was one of those movies that I really had to watch to understand what was going on. I couldn’t press my ffwd button too many times.

Try watching Requiem for a Dream. I watched them both around time. Thought they had a similar creative approach. Though the second movie is much, much darker.
