Spending last 10 days of Ramadan in mosque reading Nawafil and Quran-e-Pak.

He is trying to make a point about one of Khulafa-e-Rashideen. A sign of Rawafidh during early days of Islam.

I meant to ask, When did Etakaaf start. did it start during Prophet s.a.w times or 100 years later ?

I have no idea what etakaaf has to do with any of the Khulafa-e-Rashideen but i guess "choor ki darhi main tinka" applys here.

I thought you were asking in which year (hijri) its started. Anyone would like to share information about this?

Actually i meant to ask in which hijri year did itekaaf to figure out if itekaaf started before or after Prophet s.a.w. Shardamanny solved my problem by posting 2:187.

dude you could atleast say the allegation/suspicion you came with on this issue was wrong on your part. this is a minimum expectation of decency

Dude i still dont know whats in ur mind; but shias and sunnis both beleive in itekaaf, i was wondering how cud shia and sunni agree on something thats started after Prophet s.a.w. However it wasnt even the case.
