Erythroblastosis Fetalis

How many mommies here are Rhesus negative?

If the husband is Rhesus positive, the child would also be Rhesus positive.

Just wondering, did you recieve a shot of Anti-Rh (Anti-D) antibodies immediately after you gave birth to a Rhesus positive child?

Is this procedure common nowadays, even in Pakistan?

Re: Erythroblastosis Fetalis

This is routine in US but not in Pak. I have a relative there who is Rh negative, father wa positive. No shots and lots of trouble resulted.

The shot is notharmful in any way and can save much troubles for both moms and babies.

heres the full scoop:

thought so… :nahi: there’s some serious technological gaps in Pakistani medicine… i have a feeling most of the babies born dead in Pakistan is actually because of this erythroblastosis fetalis…

Re: Erythroblastosis Fetalis

I got a shot last time..and now when we are concerned to know about the antibody titre to make sure the shot was okay, the test for it is not available here.

Re: Erythroblastosis Fetalis

here in the US you get a shot in the second trimester of pregnancy if your blood type is different from that of your spouse's.

^ thats good... i dont think its done in many places in Pakistan... i could be totally wrong though..
