I find myself wondering, and I wonder often, regarding the current situation that the world finds itself in. There is obviously no need to point out how happy the majority of the population is at this time in the world, or I should say that it would be rather cruel to do so. Most people are concerned about the recent hurricane and the disaster it has caused. But unlike most people, I am wondering about the equivalence. I am wondering is the the water accumulated by the hurricane equivalent to the tears shed in Afghanistan and Iraq? Is God ordering USA to evacuate Iraq? And perhaps more importantly, will the USA listen?
Re: Equivalence
Sure, and the Tsunami is the tears of the Bengalis. Jerk.
Re: Equivalence
What a dumb thread. Next time there is a devstating earth quake in Quetta, I will just ask "Is this God reminding up of our genocide in East Pakistan".
Re: Equivalence
Don't get me wrong...suffering of people anywhere causes heartaches of good people around the world. But the number of natural disasters recently in USA does make one wonder.
Re: Equivalence
I saw another thread here according to which some people in Israel believe that God is punishing Americans because they forced Israeli establishment to withdraw from Gaza. Weird. Hard times for Americans!
Re: Equivalence
Or perhaps Israel evacuated on its own to SHOW Americans that it is utterly wrong to oppress another nation.
Re: Equivalence
US > 9 million sq miles > India, pakistan, afghanistan and Iran combined.
Equivalence?
If a major natural disaster occurs in each of these four countries in a span of one year, then FOUR major natural disasters should happen in the US too, roughly speaking. It's called mother nature.
Re: Equivalence
While four natural disasters may happen by one's sense of logic, the fact remains that this amount of natural disaster has never happened before. It's called a belief in a Higher Power and sense of some sanity in this otherwise insane world.
Re: Equivalence
Did someone miss out on the Tsunami?
Re: Equivalence
Yeah, they had this whole coverage on CNN for the whole world to watch. CNN provides such good coverage about all the major events. They have especially covered the current situation in Iraq and the state most of the Iraqi people are in in such an excellent way that they should be given recognition for their awesome work.
Re: Equivalence
I am beginning to think that I have to start some propaganda in order to convince people regarding the existance of a Higher Power. Though I think God is doing a pretty good job on His own.
Re: Equivalence
ok, the hurricane is a disaster. Small scale though, compared to the tsunami.
Does this mean that the tsunami victims are paying for some other wrongs if americans are paying for theirs by enduring the hurricane? And tsunami victims are so much more numerous because their wrongs were larger?
something wrong with the logic here methinks
Re: Equivalence
There is no logic here.
