interestng day today, jose would be whining to press about the offside goal which was actually onside against rovers.
and the clinical work by arsenal was great to see. although there were some ridiculous sophomoric mistakes in defense. man those spurs missed some open shots they were gifted by manuel today.
Real Madrid are still topping the table in Spain, something very unfamiliar in recent years. I have to say Schuster is doing a great job :k:
Henry also finally scored his first hattrick for Barca. Seems like it’s going to be a very good season in spain this year
In Italy, Juve are second, 1 point behind Inter. Not bad given the huge penalties Juve suffered including the demotion to SerieB etc.
Chelsea just cannot seem to score goals at the moment. They are struggling really badly and are currently 8th in the table. They will not win the league this year. Sheva was booed off the pitch and seems like Roman got it all wrong letting Jose leave like this. Arsenal top the league with Liverpool a close third and ManU. A very weird looking EPL this season.
Juve are doing quite well actually thus far but lets see how long till Ranieri can resist tinkering with his squad and system again and again
Real/Barca competition will be a treat this season, yet again :k:
^Chelsea have some major problems. I even think they will go back to the regions where they were for sooo long before Jose came. So a subtop team among the likes of Liverpool, Tottenham etc.
Yeah, I'm highly surprised by juve. I really hope they win the Scudetto this season and show Inter that once there is some serious opposition Inter can never win.
gunners still on top with a good win yeterday, reading just wanted a draw and if they could would have had the entire team stand in front of the goal all day, Gunners started carving and slicing the defense and came away with a deserving win.
Arsenal have been a favorite team of my in recent years, but to be honest even I hadn't expected them to perform this well. I have to say the youngsters have picked themselves up very well aftre the departure of Henry. Especially their midfield looks really really good with Cesc, Hleb and Rosicky
ppl had concerns when Patrick V left, and the team showed the can carry on, this season though has been a surprise I am a big gunners supporter and had really felt henry's departure is going to be a big blow to the team, but it seems that not relying on one man has been good for them, heck even theo, he has been great to watch.
^apparently, ahead of the Inter-Lazio match there were riots and one supportor got killed by a bullet intended as a warning signal. All matches were suspended and also for the weekend ahead. Although, I’m not sure whether SerieA matches have also been suspended.
In separate news, during the same weekend the match between AC Milan and Atalanta to be suspended because of crowd trouble behind the AC goalie.
So all in all, a bad week for Italian football
================================
I had to admit if it comes to recognizing talent, noone can match Arsene Wenger :k:
if only you count the number of (young) players he has given a chance and who have grown out to be world class stars you can build to starting elevens; just look at players like:
van Persie
Fabregas
Henry
Anelka
Toure
Eboue
Vieira
Petit
only one player I can recall as having turned out to be a disappointment has been Cristopher Wreh (a nephew of the great Liberian forward George Weah)
agree with aresen's eye for talent, I measn even wolcott, i was dissing theo left right and center when sven had picked him, but i guess there is more to theo than i thought, he was not ready then, but i have a feeling he has the potential to be like linekar.
shame about italian footie, hopefully things will simmer down soon. feel bad for the dude who got shot..poor guy
Italian Football is in shambles. Their violence erupsts like every year but this time around it has reached new lows.
EPL and La Liga are shaping up to be cliff hangers again this season. Arsenal are going to give ManU and Chelsea a real fight this season. They have made a fabulous start and playing fantastically well but I am not too sure about their bench strength like ManU and Chelsea and even Liverpool has so it will be really hard for them to maintain this form over the course of season.
A very big weekend in EPL as top four teams clash with each other.
Arsenal lost their first game of the season against Boro last week and they host Chelsea who will be without Drogba, their best striker (Maybe Sheva will finally step up :( )
Liverpool host ManU and another sensational match on cards. Torres has been phenomenal this season since signing for Liverpool and so is Tevez for ManU. Should be a great match.
Real Madrid beat Barca at Nou Camp. Amazing performance. RVN and Baptista's one-two was superb. wonder why Barca has disintegrated this much. I am quite sure Ronaldinho is on his way out for sure. and probably Rijkard too.
Arsenal lead EPL by one point but still a lots of games and all top four sides are still in with a shout. Lets see how close it gets after the busy christmas season is over when all teams play 6 games in 10 days.
EPL is shaping to be go right down the wire. Man U took over first spot from Arsenal after beating Newcastle 6-0 :o Chelsea too closed the gap to only 4 points.
I have to say Man U are really one of the favorites for this year's champion's league too, along with Inter and Real
