As I did not see a thread on this topic, i am posting my review here. Why? Basically it is about time I stopped posting in Politics only.
The movie was good. Far better than Ep. 1 in my opinion. This was a Star wars genre film. The acting was good to pathetic depending on who you looked at. Obi wan was well protrayed. Darth Sidious, was well played. He looks so much like the character in the last episode.
Contray to what many star wars fans say, I believe Anakin was very well played. Through out the movie we aren’t supposed to like him. He after all becomes darth vader. He is the anti-hero. He can not over come his faults. That is not what a hero in modern day 20th century is supposed to be. He should over come all obstacles in his way, get the girl etc. Anakin is the opposite. He falls due to his faults. He is not a true hero. He is a more of a greek tragic hero.
There was alot of good star wars hidden treasure if you can call it that. When yoda says that i feel a disturbance in the force, when anakin goes on a killing rampage, you can hear the darth vader breathing in the background. That was just great.
There was also,Obi wan telling Anakin that “You will be the death of me” which he is in ep. 4.
The fighting scene at the end was good, personally loved all the fighting scenes. Yoda kicking butt was a dream come true. The huge Jedi vs droids fight scene rocked as well. The graphics were great so was the action.
The bad: The romance was over done and cliched to the nth power. It was pathetic, when she tells anakin right before they are gonna be killed by Lord Dooku, that i love you. I was gonna puke when i saw that scene. Cliche all the way. Over all the romance sucked. It could have been done much much better.
Not enough light-sabre combat. Personally I would have loved to see Obi wan and Dooku duke it out for a couple of more minutes. It would have been fun to extend that whole aspect of the fight scene to like 20 min. Instead of 3.
Too much eye candy, the whole r2d2 getting jets - that was just bad. Pure and simple. Atleast Jar Jar was not around much.

Movie: 8/10 (hey I am a star wars fan)
Music: 8/10
