Hi people i am new to these boards and don’t use them much but could sum1 plz answer the following questions???

Are they any good?
after how long does the hair grow back??
which would you think is better…waxing or epilation

hahaha! I have one and I DO use it occasionally. I call it my "lawn mower". It absolutely hurts like all get-out but the hair grows in soft and thin the same as if it were waxed. I cant wax myself, I've ripped off skin with wax so I got an Epilady. If you can afford a waxing, you get the same results with less pain. If you cant afford waxing then epilators are better than tweezing and FAR better than shaving.

it’s my life-saver :hayaa: i am SO glad i bought one. honestly. as for the hair growth it’s the same with waxing. takes the same time. though i did my arms and legs and it’s been 2 months and the hair re-growth’s to a minimum. plus with the epilator you don’t have to wait for you hair to grow back to a nasty long lenght like you have to with waxing. with the epilator the hair can be pretty short and woosh it’s gone.

as for the pain, it hurts when you first do it, but after a minute or two you start to get numb. but the pain’s really manageable.

I just bought one by Braun last week.

I used to love waxing but then my skin over shins became very sensitive and I started getting a rash after waxing. I did not want to shave cuz that absolutely sucks, so I bought the epilator. It's not messy like waxing, and the pain factor is just about the same for me at least...you get use to it. And like Khumar said, you don't have to wait for hair to grow a certain length to epilate.

Though they hurt I think epilators r great. And yes they do cause a reduction in hair growth too. Epilators r better cos you don't have to wait for the hair to grow out to a certain length before u can remove them again as is the case with waxing.

epilator gave me in-grown hair, my legs have 70% in grown hair after epilating. i hated it
