I've been thinking of switching to epilators too, I get everything waxed but it's too dear (£60).

I'm worried the epilator might break their hair, is hair breakage more with waxing or epliators and what's a good brand?

Is it advisable to use an epilator on the face (i.e. lip, chin?) or does the hair grow back even thicker w/ the use of an epilator?

^ i never heard of epilating face....
coz when i bought the epilator the chemist suggested me only to use around legs arms n armpits not the face...

Creme Brulee, like they say with epilating u have more in growns, wuld u want that on ur face? man threading is the way to go for face. i remember i used wax once or twice on face and never after that, my skin used to break out like crazy :hayaa:

I do think that waxing gives you a smoother finish; however, there is greater danger of burning the skin -- especially on your face.

i do agree about waxing giving smooth skin but what if ur body regrows with ina month then in that case epilator works like a magic :smiley:

by all around i meant body , never used wax on my face amd wud never do dt .. always a danger of burning . for face use threading.

ma cousin uses wax on her face bt dere is no difference in the hair growth speed , however she did find less hair growh by waxing on her body.

Guys remove their body hair too, especially if they swim or body build... We Asian guys need it, what's the big deal?

I don't think that epilation gives more in-growns as compared to waxing...if you scrub regularly...that is!

I wonder how do people convince themselves to go for messy, hours taking waxing when an option like epilation is available...I hate the time which the re-growth of hair takes when it comes to waxing...:| I mean you have to wait for the hair to grow long enough to be waxed...and I hate the dirty look! :|

im just delaying getting an epilator because i think it’ll be painful and i heard u have to use it a certain way and im afraid i’ll totally screw it and will hate it so :naraz:

erm... have u ppl heard of wax strips?! takes care of the whole burning issue.. and its not messy at all...

I love wax strips! you warm then by rubbing them between your hands, and then you can do some touch ups in between two "classic" wax epilation...so that you're neat all the time! unfortunately this makes a huge outbreak on my face, so i have to use tweezer as much as possible! and it takes a looooooooong time!

i prefer to use the sugar wax, instead of regular wax, it's less messy, but you have to heat it a lot to make it really works...so the skin gets a bit red from heat...but once you're feeling burn, you won't feel the hair getting out of the skin anyway, lol....
