We have all seen the recklessness with which Karachi’s otherwise beautiful natural environment has been treated. Trees get chopped each day, the number of adulterated fuel-using vehicles grow, and pollution control technologies are rarely installed in industrial areas – even after warnings by the SEPA, who are apparently powerless. Although a tree plantation campaign commenced in September ’06, the level of pollution is still high (I don’t know how the campaign turned out, I left Karachi in August). Today two eye-opening articles in Dawn made me very upset:

all guppies - overseas and in pakistan - plz write letters to dawn so that pollution can be stopped in our beautiful city.
