Environment friendly and ethical cooking

  1. It should be cooked in a single utensil.
  2. It should not take too long to cook.
  3. It should contain least number of raw ingredients.
  4. It should not use air freighted ingredients.
  5. It should use least of fossil fuel.

Now please tell me which of the desi dish fit into this.

Steamed rice :hmmm:

re: Environment friendly and ethical cooking

fried poppadom :aq:

re: Environment friendly and ethical cooking

Vegetable rice is another option :hmmm:

Thats not a raw ingredient. I think it has already used some fossil fuel.

Whenever I cook biryani I feel I am wasting a lot of resources.

re: Environment friendly and ethical cooking

no first you will soak rice in water ( 1 utensil ) then you will make rices in another utensil. You might even steam veges before treating them as fried rice …No CB :nahi: app environment kay baray main kuch nahi sochti :nono4:

oh my knowledge is pretty weak then :smack2:

Re: Environment friendly and ethical cooking

Fried Chicken :konfused:

Well I think it is still environmental freindly as there is what they say “economy of scale” factor like if you bring raw chick peas and cook it for a long time, the one in the tin pack would have used less energy.

But then packing itself is enviroment hazard as it increses the amount of rubbish in the world.

:smack: … here’s how I would do it :

Take the cooking utensil in which you will steam rice … soak the rice in it … then half hour later drain the rice and put them in a plate … in the cooking utensil, stir fry the vegetables , sprinkle some local made salt and pepper into it and some local found herbs … Put the vegetables on the cover of the cooking utensil …

Add the rice and the water in the utensil , start boiling it .. when done , add the vegies …

Now eat the khana in the same plate that you used for rice earlier :lifey:

Kaisa? :omg:
