Entrance Exam for Pakistan Medical Schools

Has anyone ever taken the medical/dental entrance exam in Pakistan, is it doable? If anyone has information on the format or level of diffculty, can you please share the info and perhaps your experience. Shukria

Well I've taken the MCAT ( Punjabi version :D ) but it was in 2000 and then it was conducted by IBA ( karachi ) and the level was pretty Ok. It is 'doable' but FSc students had a bit of difficulty as a few questions were from A level syllabus...
All in all...it was a nice experience

But now for a couple of years UET is conducting this and they're only going for FSc course. The standard has gone down a bit but the competition is very tough.

In my time around 10,000 students qualified for taking the test ( I think around 70% marks were needed to take the test ). Top 2000 were asked to submit applications. 1400 got admission in various medical colleges in Punjab. The merit order was
1-KEMC
2-AIMC
3-FJMC ( only for gals )
4-RMC ( Rawalpindi)
5- NMC ( Multan-Nishter )
6-PMC ( Faisalabad)
7-Qmc ( Buhawalpur )

Need any other information ?
btw...MCAT 2003 are going to be held on 21st of September. Result to be declared on 11th of Oct and admission lists will be displayed till 26th of Oct.

belle, i took the Agha Khan entrance test in 1998 and had passed it…all the people from my high school class who took it passed it i think…

I had taken A level biology so it was not that tough because most of the things on the test were already covered in our A level syllabus…

Those who do FSc in Pakistan in pre medical are also well equipped to take that test…

I don’t remember now if it just had biology or if it had other subjects like physics, chemistry and english etc? :konfused:

But basically the test material matches the syllabus of these boards…It is similar but a bit more advanced than SAT 2’s biology i heard…

Sac and Irem, thank you so much for taking time to post the information. Its Very helpful, thanks again. :flower1:

You’re welcome belle, the pleasure is all mine.

If your a foreign or technical assistance student, you dont have to take any entrance exam at all.
