I quite agree with TLK. I don’t know if this is cultural but I don’t understand this idea of “entertainment” at weddings, especially the “stage show” type of entertainment people have mentioned. Isn’t attending the wedding, socialising, and mingling with people that you don’t see on a regular basis the entertainment?
I enjoy both kind of weddings but I really like the segregated once because for some reason, the girls just mingle around a lot more if their husbands aren’t around.
I would say desi segregated weddings are more a cultural thing than a religious one since the groom/male family members do enter the girls side while in arab culture they do it more properly i.e no males or just for a limited time but I think that’s because a lot of them do hijab plus they wear pretty revealing clothes
Well, I am from a nation of pick and choose muslims. How could we disappoint in weddings.
Anyway, I suppose I would care more about what the bride feels comfortable in then anyone else. If she’s not comfortable then who cares how happy the guests are. To have to go above and beyond for guests is another version of log kya kahen gay which is a statement I’m sure none of us care for.
