often times we used Urdu words with English words as an izaafat [linkage/connective]which is according to Urdu grammar NOT legal [izaafat is valid ONLY between Arabii and Farsii words] … this practice now only practiced in Urdu shaa’irii. not following this rule by modern Urdu posts is considered noqs-e-shaa’irii. linking Urdu words with English, Hindi words is widely accepted in today’s conversations and that is called Ghalat ul 'aam and Ghalat ul awaam…
i just thought of making this thread asking everyone to contribute such words. please make sure they are widely used and NOT something that you used or your friend uses. i’ve a few words here:
late-lateef = habitual late runner
lazi-pan = laziness

yes…lazy-pan [sust mizaajii] ko kahte haiN aur aam bol chaal meN iste’maal karte haiN…sust ke saath aur bhii Faarsii ke alfaaz bole jaate haiN jaise sust-ravii, sust-kaarii, sust-mizaajii etc
actually, maiN ne saHeeH se explain nahii kiyaa thaa...meraa maqsad thaa k aise izaafatii alfaaz [jis meN "-e-"] yaa vaao 'ataf -o-] aataa ho jis meN ek lafz English kaa ho aur dusraa Arabii yaa Faarsii kaa...jaise:
mimbaraan-e-majlis
abhii vaao 'ataf kaa koi lafz zehn men nahiiN aa rahaa...
i think my idea was quite restrictive and hence very difficult thread to come up with such words.
