Since a lot of us grew up watching MTV (or in my case, Much Music and now Much More Music), I wanted to know what your all-time favourite music videos are.
For me, what stands out in my mind are the early Janet Jackson videos for “Nasty”, “Rhythm Nation” … the intense choreography was like something new … all of Duran Duran videos, particularly the video for “Rio” and even George Michael’s “Freedom”).
I have so many favorites. Back in the 80's, I must have taped about 6 VHS videos of 4 hours each off the "pepsi power hour" on Much Music. My favorites lean towards the heavier side, so you might not know these bands. Some of my favorites are;
I Love It Loud - Kiss
Welcome Home - King Diamond
Hall Of The Mountain King - Savatage
Seasons In The Abyss - Slayer
Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue
Aces High - Iron Maiden

The power hour is on Fret. They show it on Much More Music in the evenings and repeat it late at night.

Interesting. Are they repeats or is it a new show?
MJ’s thriller terrified me when I first watched it. I was just a kid then, so that’s expected.
Other videos which scared me were “Self Control” by Laura Branigan. After watching it as an adult, the video is actually quite erotic and not scary at all.
Most Bon Jovi and MJ videos.
Prodigy - breathe
M People - movin on up
Outthere Brothers - boom boom
Dr. Alban - I like to move it, move it
Eminem - without me
I think anything by Bjork is not only scary, but also just ..way out there.
*Michael Jackson's "Thriller", "Beat It" and "Smooth Criminal" were all groundbreaking. I personally love The Verve's "Bitter Sweet Symphony" video as well. People, That Is All.*
