English Music Videos

Since a lot of us grew up watching MTV (or in my case, Much Music and now Much More Music), I wanted to know what your all-time favourite music videos are.

For me, what stands out in my mind are the early Janet Jackson videos for “Nasty”, “Rhythm Nation” … the intense choreography was like something new … all of Duran Duran videos, particularly the video for “Rio” and even George Michael’s “Freedom”).

Music videos are like mini-movies.

So what are your favourites?

One-metallica
Outside-Staind
Hellsong-sum 41
In too deep-Sum 41

I have so many favorites. Back in the 80's, I must have taped about 6 VHS videos of 4 hours each off the "pepsi power hour" on Much Music. My favorites lean towards the heavier side, so you might not know these bands. Some of my favorites are;

I Love It Loud - Kiss
Welcome Home - King Diamond
Hall Of The Mountain King - Savatage
Seasons In The Abyss - Slayer
Home Sweet Home - Motley Crue
Aces High - Iron Maiden

and so many more....

You have videos ... you should see my collection .... :)

I remember when Much Music would do their 'Blue Spotlight' on a different artist everyday. They would show nothing but their videos for half-an-hour.

I have videos of Milli Vinilli :), Janet Jackson, Aerosmith and I even taped some ZZ Top for some reason.

The spotlight was a great show. I’d love to see the power hour come back though. This “loud” show they have now is a joke.

BTW, ZZ-Top are awesome :k:

The power hour is on Fret. They show it on Much More Music in the evenings and repeat it late at night.

Interesting. Are they repeats or is it a new show?

I dunno. I never watched the original.

It's a new show, I just checked out the website. They play classic videos as well. I'll definitely have to check this out.

I don't think there is any music video which can be compared with Micheal Jackson's thriller.

MJ’s thriller terrified me when I first watched it. I was just a kid then, so that’s expected.

Other videos which scared me were “Self Control” by Laura Branigan. After watching it as an adult, the video is actually quite erotic and not scary at all.

Most Bon Jovi and MJ videos.
Prodigy - breathe
M People - movin on up
Outthere Brothers - boom boom
Dr. Alban - I like to move it, move it
Eminem - without me

I think anything by Bjork is not only scary, but also just ..way out there.

Unforgiven by Metallica
November rain...Guns n Roses
Misunderstood...Bon Jovi

to name a few

Definitely...Stephanie Seymour looked so beautiful in that..

Like a little prayer - madonna

I think Madonna has it by the scruff of the neck when it comes to making unorthrodox videos

I also like Sting's videos. They are kinda thought provoking.

Freedom by George Michael was good too

The Game Responds:

*Michael Jackson's "Thriller", "Beat It" and "Smooth Criminal" were all groundbreaking. I personally love The Verve's "Bitter Sweet Symphony" video as well. People, That Is All.*

all of the above mentioned videos are nice. i like em all :~)

Jamiroquai's video's, very different from others..
n yea Janet Jackson's 'thats the way love goes' ..

my favourite Madonna video has got to be .... well .... all of them .... you are right Funguy ....

actually, Vogue has got to be my favourite video, following that, Express Yourself. :)
