Re: English Herbs
Sage goes well with chicken and parsley goes well with fish, but I can't really see how you would use them in curries, I only use those herbs when making italian/english meals.
Re: English Herbs
Rosemary is really good with potatos, and grilled lamb.
Re: English Herbs
awsum thread. guys i have mixed herbs not the individual ones cus i dun get to make so many dishes. how can i used the mix herbs(which are in a bottle)
Re: English Herbs
I use lemon pepper in curries. I also make herb rice, I cut whatever fresh herb I have on hand and put it in rice beofre I dum it, it is very yummyy. You can try adding differnt herbs in differnt dishes and see how you like it...thats all I can suggest..
My mom uses herbs with pretty much all the vegetables she makes, she used rosmary or thyme in potato, basil in gobi aalo wagerah...but one thing though(what my mom told me) not to over cook the herbs in whatever you are cooking, that kills the taste and almost make it tatse bitter...

Thank you for advice. I tried it with mix veg of swede, onion, leak, canned tomatoes, chickpeas and green chillies and it tasted goods - the herbs were mixed ones - parsley, rosemary and bay.
I will try them rice as you suggested and wont overcook them.
Re: English Herbs
Basil is great in sauces especially with pasta.. Ive done Rosemary and sage with potatoes, garlic, onions and other root vegetables like Courgettes/ parnsnips and theyre really yummy:yummy:…parsley goes well with any sauces especially white sauces that accompany fish…oregano and rosemary is lovely in fresh baked breads and tarragon I havnt yet used fresh:k:

Re: English Herbs
I hate tarragon, it has very strong liquorish taste.
Re: English Herbs
Today I made chicken karahi with mix English herbs - thyme, oregano, basil and marjoram. It really turned out very different and very tasty! I put no other masala and instead of onions I used leaks. Other things were green chillies, ginger garlic paste and tomatoes.
Re: English Herbs
I love english herbs and use alot of them in my cooking.
Basil great in pastas and on pizzas.
Rosemary works well with roast potatoes and roast lamb . For a desi twist add crushed red chilli flakes.
Tarragon or thyme marrinated onto chicken, english style or desi , both give a gorgeous aroma.
Oregano only use it with pasta sauces and for lasagne
