What a let down. And to think Pakistan is ranked #3 in tests. What a shame that we lost 3-0 against this English team just recently.
Now England is currently ranked #8 in one day rankings (they are clearly superior to Bangladesh, Kenya ard Zimbabwe - hurray!!!), what shall be the margin of their defeat against Australia in the ODI’s?
England are scheduled to play at least four games against Australia in the Commonwealth Bank series, before the best of 3 finals. The other participant is fourth ranked New Zealand.
FYI, Pakistan can become #2 ranked test playing team if they beat SA in 2 test matches. Likely or unlikely?
This England side didnt win against Pakistan 3-0, rather it was England plus Hair and Doctrove that defeated Pakistan with 3-0 margin. If you review PAK vs. ENG series, you could easily see Kevin Peterson, Cook and Collingwood and in one instance Strauss batted more than one time in same innings. If Aleem Dar and co were also allowing Peterson and co more than one batting in same innings, they could have saved some matches.
Additionally, Aussies were not accompanied by buttered fingers of Farhat and steel gloves of Akmal.
pakistan has a pretty good chance of beating s.a and becoming no2 provided that akhtar and asif are played with inzamam's stupid thinking you never know..akhtar may still not get a chance.pakistan's ultimate goal should be to stay no2 untill they get to play australia and hopefully can beat them then since mcgrath and warne won't be there,but for pakistan shoaib and asif may not be there as well as they might get banned again.
If Inzi, Younis and Faisal [yousuf] produce atleast four centuries per test among them, only then think of a victory. We have good enough bowling attack to defend a decent score.
