New Zealand were odds on to win the test and the series.
Starting the final day on 90/4, England were staring at a big defeat. They needed an unlikely 391 for victory with only 6 wickets remaining. But Prior’s 110* helped them pull off an amazing draw
In the Mohali test, Pakistan 257/6 were effectively 53/6 going into the final day but Kamran Akmal (109) and Razzaq’s (71) amazing rearguard saved the day
Matt Prior Prior is the best test wicket-keeper batsman right now. Dhoni is second. AB De Villiers is more a batsman who has been forced to keep wickets since Boucher’s unfortunate eye injury
re: England's Matt Prior pulls off a Mohali in Auckland
Misbah and Azhar can learn a thing or two from this. If you are going on a tuk tuk mission, block every ball but don't give your wicket away. If you are going to put every one to sleep why wake them up with a six. Block so much that they start to hate you and cricket altogether.

KA was never a good keeper to begin with but his batting even has gone south. He was quite a decent bat when he first started.
Apart from his Mohali heroics, this was one of Akmal’s better batting performances on a seaming Karachi pitch on which Pakistan were struggling on 39/6 courtesy of Irfan and Zaheer HowSTAT! Match Scorecard

2 fierce cricket debates were settled forever last nite @ NZ vs Eng test match… First, UDRS is inevitable, so dear BCCI-(Board Of Cricket Control In India) please wake up! Second, test cricket vs T20 cricket, no more debate req’d… we can just point to this game and say “Tests are better” and leave it at that!!!
