I am always very fasinated by the England WI contest, to me it has always one f the most fascinating and compatitive form of games. WI have done great against England historically but now they are on downfall its the best chance that england has to beat WI in consective serieses
They won the series in 2000, which was greatly due to the bowling pair of Caddick and Gough. WI got bundeled out twice in two days in one of the test matches, Brian Lara scored a typical huddred in one of the matches, and in smae game which was Alec sterat’s 100th test match he scored the best 100 of the season, i have never seen anybody play better back foot strokes in one innings than what he played that day.
there i alot of talk about this series being a Lara Vaughnn contest on cricket forums aroud web. i have an interesting view on this. I think very highly of Vaughn, last year in england i saw his play very closely, he is magnificant timer of the cricket ball, and i think right now after the retirement of Desilva is the second best player of pull shot on international level. Any given day i would pick LARA ovar Anybody, but for this series i have this feeling that perhaps Vaughn is going to out score Lara, just because he is facing the weak WI’n bowling attack, where as English Pace Attack is slightly better and there is more challange for Lara. and this to me can be the deciding factor of that series.

YES - remember that good old days - Alec was proven to be the difference between the sides - and it was his career's highlight knock.

well you can say that a contest between Vaughan and Lara - both are skippers however Vaughan is young and still learning - and Lara had a bad patch before - which continues to overshadow his good knocks - bottom line is West Indies aren't winning these days under Lara's captaincy - they nearly escaped defeat from the hands of Zimbabwe - and South Africa absolutely gave them rude reception - there is no consistency in the side ! Lara maybe partly to blame but West Indies side are young
So is England who will be playing after a gap of three months - i think they will eventually win the test series but you never know those pitches of Caribbean - Lara will be the top scorer from West Indies unless anybody else from West Indies steps up.
it should be good series to watch i reckon as always
