I believe that Cook will break Sachin’s runs record if he goes on to play 200 tests…possible if he stays fit for another 5 years (England play 12-14 tests per year on average)
Being the leading batsman and being the best batsman are two separate things however
A great win by the consistently inconsistent Windies. Despite taking a handsome first innings lead, I thought they had let things slip by allowing England to score big in the second innings. 321 should have been enough for England to seal the series (or to at least defend) but Hope and Brathwaite put paid to their hopes. This is a remarkable turnaround by the Windies considering the thrashing they received in the first test in Birmingham. Also teams these days are mostly winning tests at home or in familiar conditions. Not a new phenomenon but there is no consistent test team at present. Every team is vulnerable playing away from home. BD beat Australia in Dhaka
