England won by 5 wickets
But West Indies deserve praise for taking the game to the last afternoon despite only making 243 in their first innings (that is where they lost the game).
Generally speaking you need to score around 350 in the first innings in order to stay in the game. Nevertheless it was a courageous fightback considering Windies were missing 6 of their key players for various reasons
Loss of:
- Gayle, Andre Russell, Narine and Dwayne Bravo (IPL)
- Sarwan (currently out of favour with Windies selectors) &
- Ravi Rampaul (injured)
Windies may not have the depth to beat England but they certainly have the potential to push them.
Unlucky Chanderpaul (87* & 91) is in the form of his life - could have had a hundred in both innings!
