I watched the match. I got up early and managed to watch it from the first ball because I have SKY PLus if you know that that is...
The thing that stood out was not that Australia scored 350 odd runs in a day but the manner in which they did...
It was totally electric. Ponting's celebration said it all. He means business.

Can anyone make sense of the fact that the most sucessful English bowler of the summer was dropped in favour of a spinner who can bat a bit. English selectors gone mad.

Watched the last hour of match, at time when Yousef was also aound 100 runs but i was kinda depressed to see the quality of cricket in Australia. Even Pieterson who is part-time bowler was getting the ball to spin and bounce. Flintoff balled quite well, yet Ponting and Hussey negotiated pace and spin so easily. I doubt if our openers can score 10 runs in australia.

The most ridiculous decision was to drop Monty in favour of Giles who by the way has remodeled his action and needs time to get back in groove. That is pathetic management.
Aussies seem to want it more this time around. Ponting became the first aussie captain to lose it in 18 years. Now he wants to become the first captain to earn it back.
