Nothing friendly about it. Rivalry between these two footballing nations is inspiring as well as slightly on the bitter side.
Currently England 1 Argentina 1 after first half with Crespo and Rooney the scorers. Very open game and excellent exhibition of football.

Owen just equalised a few minutes ago, its probably over now. Final score 2-2. Beckham looked well fit.
I'l have to watch the highlights on Match of the Day, but according to Alan Hansen the two goalies worked harder than the players.

Yeh Iv just checked the BBC website. You know, any other team it would have been ok for England to lose or just draw, but the bloody Argentinians ( never forget 1998) I am very pleased England won.

What an exciting end with Owen scoring two headers in last 4 minutes. Awesome stuff! Excellent attacking football by both teams though I feel for Argentina who deserved to win but fair game to England. They fought all the way and delievered two fantastic goals at the end. (Plus Rooney hit the bar twice).

Argentina played better attacking football but England did just enough, jammy sods.
It was awesome seeing the players in the tunnel before the game. No greetings or eye contact whatsoever, they totally ignored each other showing the feeling between the 2 sets of players. Apparently when the Argentine players arrived at the stadium, some hurled abuse at the English camp. I really hope they meet again in the World Cup, it’ll be no holds barred

That was one helluva match. Lampard and Gerrard are playing so well together and their passing is pinpoint. Rooney was class throughout the match, his first touch and presence of mind was a major factor in our win. I thought they had done us near the death but Owen took his goals well.
I personally feel we've improved so much under sven and have a very good chance at the world cup next year. You can't go wrong by beating the 2nd best team in the world.

There is a bit ddebate about Gerrard and Lampard playing togerher. They both are quite similar in nature and their attacking prowess so playing both of them together confuses both sometimes.

I personally feel we've improved so much under sven and have a very good chance at the world cup next year. You can't go wrong by beating the 2nd best team in the world. England has no chance to win...The thing like world cup is for the teams like Brazil ,Germany,Argentina bcs England style of football is too boring.Take the matches they won..it will be same defensive life less football..Holland is 10 times better than England

statistically speaking, at any given minute in the game there is a high possibility that a german player is lying somewhere on the field crying.

Though I did n't watch England playing recent times.In the wc2002 I saw them against Denmark and Brazil..No need to check any statistics England was too boring(though they got 3 goals against Danes)...I am die hard Brazilian fan and We taught them what is football is all about.Does England have a genius like Ronaldinhco?....An over rated Beckham can't win the world cup for England..One thing I agree they play reasonably well against Argentines.(both in 98wc and in 2002wc).

I am not a German fan...but of the late they are playing some meaningfull football.At least they have rich tradition in the world cups.
Personally speaking I wd like to see Holland to win the world cup.it is pity that a country like Holland did n't win a world cup untill now where the likes of England,France and Uruguay won it.I don't mind if brazil loose to the Dutch as they are the only team that desrves to beat us in terms of quality of football.
