England Cricket Board didn’t agree to play a Test match in Karachi due to security concern; Pakistan Cricket board (PCB) also accepted it very easily.
Now Pakistan team has to tour England next summer (2006) for Test and ODI series, now PCB must also take notice of security of London city where Lords and The Oval are the main centre of England Cricket.

In the world where we are living today, terrorist activities can occur anywhere any time. London is a recent example of that. Places which are targetted for terrorist activities therefore should not be affected when it comes to organizing matches. But unfortunately due to the f..king double standands, ECB can tell us that they dont want their team to play in karachi because its not a safe place, so basically karachites should f..k off. When foreign boards refer to karachi they never forget to mention the bomb blast which occured in 2002 and NZ left the tour in the middle immediately.But now Australia & England have decided to continue with the Natwest Challenge as planned eventhough London shouldn't be the "safest" place right now according to the ECB standards. But again these are double standards. And what role PCB should play now? Do they have the balls to tell ECB that listen that has always been our point that these activities can occur anywhere anytime and you just can't stop playing cricket because of them, so lets play cricket in karahci just as you are playing it in london as if nothing has happened there.

The PCB should take a stand for once and not just go after the money.
They want a test in Karachi, well call of the whole tour if the English wont play there.
Although you should consider with the popularity of test cricket in Pak these days the match will probably be played in front of an empty stadium anyhow.

ECB should be thankful to cricket australia who have decided to continue with Natwest challenge as planned otherwise they could have faced the similar situation which Pakistan faced back in 2002 during the NZ tour of Pakistan. This is the perfect time where PCB can convince ECB to play a test in Karachi. Its not about getting empty seats in the test which we know is a norm these days in Pakistan during test matches (although we never know karachites can prove it wrong if they get a chance to host the match). But then again its hoping against the hope. ECB is getting away with their stupid demands primarily due to the fact the PCB consist of officials who only knows how and when to kiss the assess of these goras.
Miandad had a very valid point when he said that how can you say that Karachi is not a safe place and rest of the Pakistan is safe. If terrorist activities can occur in Karahci, they can also occur anywhere else in Pakistan and atleast right now karachi is more safe than London.
Because of refusal of foreign teams to play in karachi, they are not helping restoring the already tarnished image of the city. Foreign media is already damaging the image of karachi. We all know its just a media hype due to which teams dont want to play in karachi because KFC was set on fire here but on the other hand teams are willing to play in London which has recently witnessed a mini 9/11.
Its about time that PCB should bite the bullet and involve ICC in this whole affair by threatning to cancel the October tour in protest. Only then ICC will take this issue seriously and will force england to play in karachi. The only possible way to restore the image of karachi is to have more and more international mathces in this city. Once teams like england, australia or southafrica will start playing here, everyone is going to forget everything.
