South Africa once again tried to draw the match since the first innings rather than winning it.
Hoggard was splendid today. Harmison has let England down badly in this series but Hoggard kept them above South Africa. Good performances and I expect them to win the series too.

It got quite exciting towards the end, Ntini and Smith made about 60 runs between them. But the English team is definitely looking much better than the South Africans.

This is a DRAWN test already. SA has to complete its second inning and then England will do it. Unless SAffies committ suicide or English bowler do miracles, this match is dead.

SA declared their second innings at 296-6 giving England a target of 182 in 44 overs. Bold declaration indeed!

England 20-3 and 29 overs left remaining in the day. Can England mess it up from here? hmmmm lets see! It would be cruel if Saffies mange to equal the series because England enjoyed large periods of dominance in the whole series but thats the way cricket is...

England managed to save this match and hence won the series 2-1. Infact Saffies batted for far too long and far too slow today but the result is deserving because England had upper hands in most situations. They won in England after almost 40 years. Good performance. I really hope they beat aussies in upcoming ashes series.
Saffies have found a new star in AB Devilliers. Loss of Kallis as a bowler is a big blow to them and they will struggle to find a combination for sometime.

big big series victory for england. they r really proving to be quite a tough unit. andy strauss, tresco’, freddie and hoggie the stars of the series for me. overall a brilliant victory away from home. :k:
