There are three tests left so SA can still win the series theoretically but yes it will be mighty difficult for them to overcome this really good England side.

England is now 151/5 with victory target of 501, all specialist batsmen are gone except Thorpe with keeper Jones. Very likely England will loose this one and SA will level the series… very good comeback from SAffies :k:

andy strauss is on fire 5 centuries now in just 1 1 tests wow. engand were doing well but i reckon they've been pegged back a little now, as the lower order isn't as strong as it seems on paper. micky vaughan is well under pressure to perform with the bat, in this innings he's faced 80 odd balls for his dodged 9. big knock from freddie tomorrow and 400 for england will be good total.

Three of Strauss' centuries was made in last 4 tests against South Africa. Funny enough he was born in Johannesburg, left the country at 6 for Australia and from there to England. He could thus almost have been in the South African or Australian squad if his parents stayed put!
I understand that after a dismal spell by Ntini before tea Jennings forced him to take an icebath. He was apparently furious and took it out on the England batsmen by getting two wickets.
Wonder how far Jennings would get with the Pakistan team with his ideas....?

SA finished the day at 306/6 with Gibbs at 136 not out.

ALL OVER England have won the 4th test @ jo’burg by 77 runs and they lead the 5 match test series by the margin of 2-1 with 1 test to play @ the centurion! gr8 test match with SA nearly fighting towards a draw.
1st 10 wicket haul for hoggie in tests, overall 11 wickets in the match :k:]… and gr8 sportsmanship shown by sa captain g. smith batting with a concusion going against the doctors’ orders to rest and remaining unbeaton with 67*.
