England blow Pakistan away

Here is the rest of it.

Than Moin panicked and instead of motivating the players lost it himself. As far as Saqlain not loving Pakistan any more is concerned I think this is redicoulos, Saqlain performed better under Wasim is true to a great extent his performance has suffered but Wasim can't be there always. There is one imp thing that our bowlers still get inspiration fron wasim if he bowls well they feel pumped up if he doesn't they think its a tough day. This is evident even from Miandad's statement that he gave after the loss against N Zealand He said if a bowler like wasim can't take wickets it means its a really bad day. This to me is redicoulos it is quite possible that it is his bad day doesn't neccessarily means that its team's bad day. The factor mentioned about team not good at chasing is true although most of Pakistanis don't see this our batting is very unreliable despite of having players like Inzi and Saeed Anwar. Pakistan must work hard and they shouldn't let the due factor play on their minds. Best of luck to them Our team hasn't won a home series for too long we really want them to win. Full marks though to England.

For one reason I am happy that we lost the reason is the redicoulos decision of the umpire to give Alec Stewart out I don't know what he was thinking. This case was also bad sportsmanship on Moin's part because Wasim stopped appealing but Moin continued to put pressure on him. But mainly it was the unpires fault.

Lastly about the statement issued by Wasim that England has no chance of winning was bad, but than all players issue such statements and one should read the other part of his statement as well that said if we lost it would be really dissappointing. Now isn't this how we all felt, still i think he shouldn't have said this. He has been issuing statements that people don't like for some nine months now. He before the 2nd final of Carlton and United said that Australian team come underpressure. Everyone made fun of this but realistically looking at it now i think he was right. (see there matches against India ICC knockout, also their two games against South Africa they did won in the end but only bec South Africa took more pressure). Another thing that I have felt about Wasim is he gets really angry when umpire don;'t give out on his appeals sometimes. This is not the Wasim I have seen playing for more than 10 years now, he rarely use to get angry, he always tried his best to maintain good relations with the players of other teams. I think all the pressure of past 6 years has taken its tool and he is lose his temper more often than before.

Anyways the bottom line is in my opinion he deserved to be the captain of the team for last six seven years, but now he can't be because he is suspected of suspected match-fixing(not proved)so its better we find a good and reliable captain although there is no one yet in sight.

See - this is an interesting point. Moin won the toss and decided to bat because he knows the team isent good chasing any totals over 200. Just look at their history over the last 12 months. If Moin would have inserted the Poms in - there would have been hell to pay much like what happened to Saeed Anwar when he put the Lankans into bat during the last home series. Dew or no dew - the same people who are bitchin about Moin's decision to bat first would have turned around and said "so what if there was dew? He should have batted first since Pakistan cant chase "! It`s ridiculous but true!
Gen Tauqir has done a lot of good things so far but making Inzamam the vice captain is ridiculous. A better choice would have been Azhar Mahmood since everyone considers him a future captain. Haq cant even lead Multan let alone the Pak side.

Coming back to us not being good chasers..thats been the case Saeed Anwar and Aamir Sohail were broken up as opening partners in 1997. Once we lost the solid opening base, we started losing while chasing totals more often because we would always lose a quick wicket ..ie Afridi/Ramiz/Elahi/Wasti and Saeed would put more preassure on himself to get quick runs and get out in the process - and ofcourse Inzamam and Ijaz are one match wonders. Basit Ali used to be solid in the middle order now we have Yousef Youhana who is a far better player and just as solid as Basit used to be. What we lack is a good opener to partner Saeed ..I think Nazir is good but nowhere near as solid as Aamir and I think Mohd Wasim is a MUST at no.3 in ODI and Tests because he has tremondous temperament and he`s rock solid in technique. Thats what a no.3 should be..look at Kallis,Dravid etc.

I have seen lots of people thinking dew as an excuse but I personally believe, that is was a big cause in winning and loosing a match. I don't agree with Pakistan not being good in chasing runs and that is good enough excuse because a team should be good no matter what circumstances. It makes a lot of difference in your performance when you playing a dry ball and dry ground but when it is a little wet, that is totally different circumstances.

Dew did play a role but we should have defended the total.
The 2nd one day now will start two hours earlier to reduce the dew effects at 12:00 pm PST instead of 2:00pm. I hope we win.
Go you idiots and win it a lort of pride is at stake. go go go. just go and give it your best.
