This engineering technologist degree is accredited by the Canadian Technology Accreditation Board.
Do graduates get jobs with equal salaries and career progression or are they considered unequal to their Engineering counterparts?
Can graduates of such degrees take additional courses or exams to make them on par with other accredited engineering college degrees?
Comes to my third question, are unaccredited engineering degrees worth a shot for someone with career prospects in the Middle East?
Do major employers like Chevron, GE, etc. make a distinction between graduates of either degrees?
Serious replies please.
Re: Engineering Technology degree?
60 views and no replies? :( seems like they're no engineers here.
Re: Engineering Technology degree?
What's the degree? what institution? Is it a four-year program? You need to answer these questions... a vague post without complete information won't get you much responses.
As far as prospects in the middle east are concerned, most multinationals differentiate between college and university graduates, but again, I'm not sure if that applies to your query.
Re: Engineering Technology degree?
Hmm, I guess it was clear in my mind but it I didn't put it down adequately.
The Engineering university is called the Gulf University, its located in Bahrain and offers 4-year degrees in all Engineering disciplines. I've seen the credit course list and it appears on par with those of ABET- accredited courses. Includes humanities and Differential Equations and Calculus 3, etc. Though its unaccredited and of course we'll reach a final decision after visiting the campus and meeting other students.
Then there's the engineering technology degree, in Qatar via the College of North Atlantic (their Education City Qatar campus). They offer an advanced diploma worth 3 years that also can be converted to a Four-year degree. They say they're working towards CTAB accreditation and offer multiple disciplines.
Thanks LC for the reply.
