Engine/Emission light ON on Honda civic

Re: Engine/Emission light ON on Honda civic

Roman - I'm not sure about Civic, but I know how to do it on Acura. Since they both belong to same parent company, it might be the same.
There are 2 buttons to the right of the guage assembly called "select switch" and "reset switch". You have to press them both and then turn the key to ON position (not ACC or Start). Keep both buttons pressed for 10 seconds. That should clear up the code and turn the warning light off.

As someone mentioned, go to Autozone and have them connect the ODB to read the error codes. It may turn out to be an easy and inexpensive fix.
Sometimes a common cause for check engine light is bad oxygen sensor. It may not be that expensive to get it replaced by an indep mechanic. If you are still where I think you are, then let me know. I will give you contact info of this guy I know who is an expert.

You may also want to visit a Honda forum and post your question. I'm sure you'll get much better response there.
