do people keep their engagement rings on or take it off after the ceremony/proposal etc (however their got engaged) ?
Re: engagment rings
mostly take it off and wear it only on special occasions.
Re: engagment rings
So i’m going to hijack this thread like a typical “MOSLEM”…and make a statement.." I think engagements are over rated and a couple should just get straight up married/nikkah." From a religious POV i’ve seen guys and girls do not halal things in this period and than the engagements are called off and they don’t get married. But not everyone on this site is religious but just thought I should mention for those that are religiously inclined.
Any ways, back to you’re regularly scheduled programming.
Re: engagment rings
I’ve seen people keep it on after the engagement/ nikkah and then a couple days before the the wedding they’re take it off so they can do the whole ring ceremony again at the wedding!
Usually people in the west wear their wedding and engagement rings long term.
Re: engagment rings
I do agree. I think though sometimes a ring is given just to officially show the “baat is pakki?” . the couple are not really allowed to be going out together etc its just a formal way of saying that the marriage will be happening here. the families can get to know each other more etc…I understand its best to get the nikkah done as soon as you can, but its just so formal and breaking that off is a pretty big deal.
Re: engagment rings
I don’t remember that any engagement ring was given to my then fiance and now wife. It was something else but I am unable to recall as its been half a century or at least, I feel like that ;).
Yes, but a wedding ring was there. I am not into rings or bands so apologized in advance.
