Engagement

Would you invite your friends to your engagement party? Is this what most people do? Let’s say your walima is next year but your engagement party is this year.

Thanks.

Re: Engagement

i think an engagement is more of a personal event where you only would invite family members, and really close friends. don’t think it needs to be made into such a big thing where you’re inviting people that you work with

ps - munnniii!!! where have you been girlie? i miss you, and your crazy stories :hugz:

Re: Engagement

And what about nikah and shadi :D

I think it depends on the type of engagement, if it was at home, with family only, i don't think i'd invite friends..but if it was big, held in a hall, then sure why ont invite friends

Re: Engagement

smilestar, awwwwww. I missed ya tooooooooo. hehe. This semester has just been very umm, hectic. Therefore the absence. I'll prob start my journal again, but there wont be so many crazy stories this time. grin

sara, what if its a nikkah? I really meant nikkah. Taking place in a house.

Thanks.

Re: Engagement

i would even invite my female friends. even my past affair, in an effort to make peace with her. sure, no one will say no to your happiness. and ones who will, they are hurt and they are entitled to coming or not coming.
giving a try is not a bad idea.
you can even tell your parents and the person you are getting engaged to, it is alright.
and they should understand this.
so you are not getting married between engagement and walima ? :)
just curious to know, sis.

Re: Engagement

Re: Engagement

case study, I meant nikkah. hehe.

I dont know whether to invite friends or not because its going to be a family affair but at the same time I'm wondering if the common thing to do is to invite friends to a small nikkah.

smilestar and lusi, yes I am having a nikkah in a few months, Insha'Allah. I just found out myself a few days ago. hehe.

I am sooooooooooooo nervoussssssssssssss, and big as anything. I need helpppppppppp. I dunno the first thing about getting married. hehe

I will update my journal tomorrow night with details. Stay tuned. grin

Re: Engagement

I have invited all my family members n close frnds on my engagment

Re: Engagement

I think family members definitelty, and if its a limited space thing, then just invite your closest friends......but dont invite all acquaintances. Congrats. Im sure your friends would want to throw you a party anyways on the side :)

Re: Engagement

Invite family members and close friends...a small gathering is always the best..incase of engagement!

Re: Engagement

Only family members...no friends, co-workers...not even close friends...but they should be told...not invited...don't know why...but this is what I would do...inshaAllah!

Re: Engagement

if it's just engagement/nikkah.......i'd only invite family and a couple of my closest friends...but thats just me...i like to keep things simple and intimate.

Re: Engagement

My friends threw an engagement party...... Its fun and really worth it.
