I'm not sure on who foots the bill for engagement, my in laws allowed me to choose my own dress and do most things my self........they offered to pay but my mum said no as it didnt cost that much........when it came to gifts, they gave me alot of money.....as they knew we wouldn't accept it otherwise.........which was sweet of them. I think normally thy guys side get the girls dress etc.
Femme Fatelle - Arranged the bangles my self! Bought so many and mixed them all up - copying the ones i saw in magazines......lol My makeup artist was suprised as to how simple i wanted to be, but i thought its only an engagement...........plus my fiance likes simplicity. Also i thought if i get tooo done up there would be no difference when i'm an actual bride?

That was a smart decision, engagement should be simple and classy...ur not a bride yet, I think wedding-type engagements are ridiculous..

Chanel1122 - Im going to pakitan in November for SOPPING! looking forward to it, by using this forum i have made a list of all the shops etc! Im worried that i wont find something i like as im quiet fussy................lol.........but im going with my mum and mother in law, so we can shop together which im grateful of................there's nothing worse than ur walima outfit being picked by someone else. Inshallah everything will be fine..............fingers crossed. Im also going to get the invitation made and have matching table menus, thank you cards etc from Pakistan............hopefully my trip to Lahore is going to get most of the things done! Anyone know where i can get a nice mehndi dress from Lahore..................something where ppl will say WOW!

hmm relaxed u will get best out of anything ........silsila i suggest u to get ur mehndi stuff stitch by karighar..... which is situated backside of liberty u just show them the design(from magazine) they will make the same stuff for u ....and if u wants to get the mehndi cloth just have a look at Sequins at Cavalry Ground.

aww you guys make a cute couple mashallah......this reminds me of my engagement hehe and how my wedding's gonna be the summer of 2008 inshallah.......and silsila I agree with how this forum helps you to seriously make a list of things that you need for your wedding
