a 1 crt diamond ring can be anything from $ 4000 to $ 8000, depending on where you buy to from.
If you are going to buy a loose stone from a diamond wholesaler this would be the price.
If you are buying from a retail jeweler , just the stone that is it, it could go higher and if your buy a ready made 1 crt diamond ring even higher.
My suggestion, if you know a diamond wholesaler but it from them. They should have a chart of all the 4 C's that explains all the details to you. If not carry a print out so they know you are well informed. Always get a certificate as well.
Also keep in mind, the type of cut, the color, and the clarity. All affect the cost.

A one carat round brilliant cut will cost you minimum 400,000 in Pakistan. In fact, some jewellers refuse to come down on clarity and hence the price and told me that I couldn't get a one carat for less than 7 lakhs.
It might be worth going for a 0.90 carat or above diamond because the price goes down a LOT and the size is not that different. A 90 cent diamond will cost from 260,000 upwards. Also, the clarity doesn't make much of a difference to the appearance of the diamond as long as it is 'eye clean' i.e. no big flaws (very rare for s12 and above). The cut (rated from fair to excellent usually) and colour make the most difference to how brilliant the diamond is. I found going down on the clarity and not compromising on the cut and colour made a huge difference with the price.

price would depend on where you buy it from.... we bought my fiancee's ring from Damas... and did check Solitaire as well... they are bit expensive but they have good quality... both of them are located on MM Alam road... accross each other...
mine was .75 ct and it cost me 240000.... you can find it cheaper if you go other stores but i liked the cut and clarity was brilliant
