Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

i would love to have one! and yea, i realize that without nikah hugging and stuff is not right but do you really have to hug and stuff? we are muslims and we dont need to forget tht to have a casual photosession to have nice professional pics done. heres an e-shoot of a muslim couple and the only thing they did was hold hands but i still love their shoot. i think its really nice and the photographer is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!! shes muslim herself too but shes indian. im planning of having the photoshoot by her. they had more pics in the album before but i guess now they told her to take them off but still:

heres another one of her shoots i LOVEEEEEE:

^this is an indian couple so they did the whole hugging and stuff but i think some shots where they are sitting next to eachother and stuff is amazing.

i dont think you need the hugging and everything to have a cute, lovely photosession.

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

^ no you don't, you're right. it all comes down to how comfortable you are with each other and with the camera. and of course whom you are ok with showing these pictures to!

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

All of these shots are super nice!! We weren't able to do an engagement shoot cuz the hubby doesn't live here but I wouldn't mind. Hugging and hold hands is fine, some of the other shots seem more intimate but they're still nice and to each is their on. But wouldn't that be uncomfortable for the couple themselves? While the photographers telling you to get cozy so they could get the shot? Its almost a little embarrassing lol. Anyone have an experience to share?

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

If your comfortable with one another there is no problem! me and my fiance were actually dating for 2 years before the engagement.... so clearly comfortable! And nor did our parents mind if we hugged ( for pictures ONLY) ....

We even got a cheeky picture purely for ourselves and the photographer as she got carried away!!

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

plz upload engagement mehndi design photo shoots

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

As 'modern' as I am, I find the idea of having a pre wedding photo shoot so fake and cringe worthy! I know everyone is doing it and actually the photos always looks adorable, but the concept is very strange and unnecessary.

My bf and I are definitely not having one.

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

I dont think these photoshoot are so 'pre-wedding' like. Its just a photoshoot for fun... not stick the 'pre-wedding' label on it :)
the pictures are there for you, not the whole world so y not id say. Unless they end up at non-protected facebooks, but thats just ur own fault.

btw i thought engagement photoshoot, as in photoshoot on the engagement day, like the ones on wedding day. I dont c whats so fake about it, the wedding ones are equally real or fake for that matter
haha

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

i think engagement shoots are a great way to get "casual," less intense photographs for the couple. i used our engagement shoot pictures for our save the date, wedding website, and thank you cards. i was also able to print some copies and pass it along to our relatives who were curious to see photographs of us as a couple.

i find them to be a great way to connect your family and friends and gives a lot of out of town guests and relatives a chance to get to know the couple through photographs. having said that, i don't think you need to be overtly affectionate to prove that you care about someone and can do this in a tasteful manner. i think a lot of the photojournalist guide you but don't make you do anything you aren't already doing. if the couple talks amongst each other and decide how affectionate they want to be in photographs or choose the less affectionate pictures to be shown publicly then you're okay. it really just depends. some people want to show off their love story while others want to keep it private. i personally think its cuter when you save it for the two of you, but i think engagement photographs are a great resource and usually photographs don't charge extra for them anyway!

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

Ditto^^
And I think a great idea for an engagement shoot to make it fun is to go into photobooth and take several pictures, combine them until they tell a story. Something like this, this couple used this for their Save the Dates cards:

Samra and **Omer’**s engagement photography session done at **Los Angeles Union Station **and Pasadena City Hall.

Re: Engagement Photoshoot - Would you go for it?

Every single muslim knows that before nikkah it is HARAM to have any kind of physical contact. You both are still na-mehrem to each other even if you are engaged. This rules is not made by "old boring people", But Allah the Most High said that. If you are a muslim, you must take care of what Allah want you NOT to do.

This is nothing to discuss, but just to inform!
