Re: Engagement Issues
A friend of mine was just talking to me and she was really upset/depressed. She has been together with this guy for a few years now (both are desis) but the guy's family has had no talks with her family about engagement yet. The girl has met the family even though the families have not and the mom of the girl is worried because she wants a timeframe of atleast an engagement. The mother of the guy is apparently making no efforts to visit them (they live in different states) and she and the other mother have only talked once. The father of the guy is comparitively more vocal and seems happy but the mother never really talks about it. She seemed cordial and nice when she met the girl but she isn't very vocal about what she plans regarding their engagement. The girl has talked to the guy many times about this and he keeps saying that he will talk to her. Even though the girl can wait and be patient, it puts the parents in an awkward position because they want an answer. What do you guys think he or she should do?

sorry but i had to say that, I would tell your friend to have agood chat with the boy, let her make things clare, a good chat over the phone or face to face doesn't matter how they really have to talk with each other.
