Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

I’m getting engaged on this sunday, inshaAllah…and since I don’t have natural long nails, I’m planning to go for artificial ones, would it be a wise idea? Or would they look really fake? :expressionless: My own nails are cut as short as possible…and even if I had tried growing them, I would have been unsuccessful, as two of my nails on each hand bend whenever I try to grow them. So, what do I do? Artificial nails? or really short natural nails of my own?

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

trust your MUA on this.. what parlour r u going to? artifical nails can look wow and they can turn u down but if applied professionally they will last all day long and will not look fake at all. you can go for nail extensions too... i love nail extensions..

Since only two families are going to be together i.e. ours and theirs (11 persons in total), so I'm not going to any really famous parlour, I've booked Qudsia's Splendour in Johar Town...and now I'm praying that I get a satisfactory make-up from there...please pray for me people! :|

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

Get acrylic nails !! They look sooooo nice and elegant.

Dont worry, evetything will go smooth just stay calm!

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

Go for artificial nails. The length can be adjusted to your liking as well as the colour. Too short nails would look stubby and the ring won’t stand out. Ask your MUA about this.

Thanks for the replies...:)

I hope light pink nail colour with light pink clothes wouldn't look bad...:)

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

Get fake nails if your own nails are very short but file those nails down short, not tackly-long and oval the edges, no squared off tips. Basically make them look natural and short, your entire nail shouldn't get longer than 0.75".

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

I think you should get fake nails, but keep them normal length...not like claws. but I think rounded-squares looks more natural than oval....but again it depends on the shape and length of your fingers. If you have long, skinny, delicate fingers, OVAL shape is better, but if you have shorter, slightly thick fingers, a rounded-square is better

rounded-square - square shaped nail, with the edges smoothed so that they curve instead of having a point

I have long thin fingers, so I guess oval is the shape for me, and I'll ask the MUA to shorten the length of fake nails, by the way, its the first time I'm going to get them...so that is another reason that's making me apprehensive.

Thanks for the replies..:)

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

Get natural looking fake nails! They'll make your hand more 'clean looking' The beauty parlour should be able to help you in making them look natural! Good luck for sunday!

^Agree with cupcake! :rose: Hope everything goes well!

Thanks again girls!

It's done! I'll post a review as well as pictures of my nails tomorrow inshaAllah! :)

Re: Engagement: Help needed, urgent!

congrats :)

Assalamualaikum

I would suggest getting artificial nails if thats what you want.

My advice would be, to worry more about how you will be in front of your future husband. and how he will be. I am sure he is not marrying you for your nails!
