Engagement- Dupatta on head?

what do we think?

people that have had engagements, did you wear a dupatta on your head or not? why did you or didn’t you?

im asking because my mum said it looks nice and would rather i have it on…but i dont really want to cos i think it looks too formal? and u dont really need to be all dulhan-like? however iv seen a few people rocking the look so just wondering what people think.

Re: Engagement- Dupatta on head?

Do what makes you feel comfortable. If it was me, I would go for a duppatta on my head as it just looks more appropriate :).

Btw, engagement is a formal event so all the reasons for you to look so :P

Re: Engagement- Dupatta on head?

I think if you put it on your head you will stand out! Hopefully no one else walks in like that:)

In the end it is your choice hun, and you can always try out various looks before you decide!

Congrats

lol well hopefully no one walks in like that ;) haha!

i think i will have to try everything on and see if i look good with it on or off...maybe hair down and dupatta on....so its not too much?

Re: Engagement- Dupatta on head?

I think it looks really elegant! and you should dress up...its ur engagement afterall...

Re: Engagement- Dupatta on head?

I had a dupatta on my head and my hair half-way up with curls coming down on one side. It looked really nice and elegant and did not look like a bridal look at all! So I say yes to the dupatta especially if you get some nice back-combing done--looks real elegant. You will stand out and no one can be mistaken for the bride to be;)

I had mine set the same way as ash817, and I agree it looked just right. xxx

Re: Engagement- Dupatta on head?

i think it's wise to wear a dupatta on your head it gives you that more special look and distinguishes you among your guests. also i will say why not get a net material that matches and attach swavorski crystals to it? I did that for a friend's wedding bc in her culture they wear red and white saris on the wedding day. the whole sari and covering your hair with it looked too aunty like and the net thing was a last min solution that worked out really well. the net was see through so you still didn't have a heavy bridal look you know?
