No, no, these aren’t good enough for the reception. In my opinion the gharara or sharara needs to be phulava and full almost as in a tradition style like these:
(I am not saying these are for engagemnt cuz they r not. I am just showing how the bottom of the shaadi jora should be like-not straight or mermaid style like Indians are doing and I am not endorsing these outfits as well)

although this outfit is beautiful, ive seen a million copies of this outfit. in the same and different colors as well. I myself have the same thing in Black with blue and silver kaam but its a ghara ...not my preference (it was from my in-laws) but yea way to many people have this design. Id pick somethign different after seeing all these people with it. Lemme see if i can find a picture
I think a gharara would look look pretty great too! You know, lots of ppl may have it in pak but here I don't see that many copies of designer wear so it would still look 'new' i guess.. It would be nice to see a pic of your outfit though - you lucky girl!
if we’re still looking at color combos - i just saw a gorgeous outfit in the bridal pics thread:
How would those colors look on this:

What do you guys think?
Re: engagement dresses
hey girls brinjal is the new hot pink in karachi :) My personal thing is i feel for an engagement an outfit should be basically simple and in beautiful colors like peachish, light pink or lilac or even offwhites. Yaar the focus should be the bride and the outfit should be secondary. Infact mine was a beautiful baby blue jamavar. it had a lovely neck and daman made with a jamavar pants and a long dupatta that had chan all over it :) heheh
Re: engagement dresses
brinjal is such a lovely color

jeeezzz i feeel like getting married again a couple more times just so I can have a chance to wear these beautiful dresses !!!
My engagement dress was Turqouise Salwar Khameez and I had a red Dupatta. It looked very nice. I wanted to wear Red because I'm not planning to wear Red when I get married.
