Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

Another excellent win by India despite chasing a huge 298. Everyone chipped in with the bat except for Raina. India take the series 3-0 with 2 to play

**MS Dhoni is not only a cool and calm captain but also a terrific ODI player and finisher, arguably the best ODI batsman in the game right now

*Not only does he have a fine one-day record - 6407 runs at 50.44 from 194 ODIs, SR 88.34, HS 183, hundreds x7

but he has also been remarkably consistent with the bat of late - averaged 48.20 in the world cup, 78.67 in England and during the current series he’s averaging 122* (has yet to be dismissed!!)

Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

So is it fair to say - India flat track bully, England Swinging conditions bully?

^ I was getting a bit concerned about Dhoni's (non) performance in Test cricket. Looks like he has regained his form. And yes, he is very cool under pressure.

Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

Asif, not sure about the best ODI player right now but he's up there for sure..the best finisher these days though... modern day Bevan?

Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

^ Who is Bevan? Kuch jyada pee lee kya :)

There used to be a Bev Congdon (NZ circa 1970s) I am sure you are not referring to him.

Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

I was critical of the indian bowling in England but thought the batters did their job atleast in the ODIs. MS Dhoni was the reason India reached 280 and 304 in the 4th and 5th one-dayers respectively but the bowlers failed to defend even formidable scores.

Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

Uncle he is reffering to Michael Bevan ......An Outstanding Finisher He was an Aussie :)

Re: Eng Vs India - 3rd ODI

^ Thanks Waleed. The name does ring a bell now. (Looks like Meinahee kuch jyaadaa pee lee thee!)
