Team news England have made one change : Chris Tremlett has replaced Monty Panesar. For India, Ramesh Powar and Munaf Patel are in while Gautham Gambhir has been dropped and Zaheer Khan misses out due to flu.
Toss Dravid chooses to bat. Sid informs me that this is the sixth successive time that India have won the toss. Two Tests, two practice matches and two one-dayers.
Siddhartha Vaidyanathan, who is at the ground, can’t stop raving about the lovely weather. "Sunny, clear skies, mild breeze. All you need is Zaheer Abbas walking out and flicking every ball to midwicket." Ah! I bet Sid has never seen Zaheer Abbas bat. I have. There is one shot I still remember. Kapil Dev is the bowler and the ball is just short of length, outside off. Zaheer leans forward, looking for a drive and checks his shot as he sees the length. Just a push. Mere push. The ball should have gone rolling to cover. Instead, it rockets to the cover boundary. As Sid reminds me, Zaheer Abbas played at Gloucester.
Does anybody have any statistics around how many times Tendu has got out in 80s and 90.
Wonder how many ODI centuries he would have scored if he had converted them.

Well it has been recent phenomenan. Earlier he used to be very good in converting 50s into 100s. I think he probably has more than 20 score of above 80 and 10 in 90s.

Im pretty sure S Rajesh of cricinfo would be working overtime to get those stats and more after this game...
There have been plenty of runs in this ODI series. What's up with that? Where are seaming, bouncy, grassy pitches? Only 5 wickets have fallen in 1st innings so far during first 2 ODIs. and almost 600 runs.
They had been serving up short deliveries to Dhoni - seemingly as part of pre-planned strategy. I didn't know Dhoni had any weakness against short deliveries. May be the plan was just to tempt him to hit away.
2.6 Agarkar to Cook, FOUR
2.5 Agarkar to Cook, FOUR
2.4 Agarkar to Prior, 1 run, lands on a length, on the off and middle, defended to the on side
2.3 Agarkar to Prior, FOUR, slips down the leg side and Prior clips it away past square leg.
