Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
The Germans used Cow Dung to power their Tanks during World War II when they were running out of fuel
If they actually refine this technology, human dung can be used to power cars
and so our feces will not be wasted but consumed by cars
although the smell is another matter
Nothing upsets me more then the thought that our feces is going to waste everytime we fluch our toilets!
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
And what about our dear Spock?
i was joking :D
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
There are no animals in Karachi, where in the hack this huge amount of Dung would come from? Unless the design is changed from cow dung to man dung where the quantity could be boundless in Karachi !!!! No 'budboo' and over flowing sewers too!!!
FARID
The animals usually travel down from interior Sindh. :)

Karachi has many "bhans - manjh" farms in its outskirts! Malir, Gadap, Hub, Bhans Colony etc! Infact Bhans Colony on in the East of Karachi is the location where they plan to install this plant.

That's true. But most of the best animals do come from interior Sindh, especially during bakra season. :)
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
Silly Billy,
"That's true. But most of the best animals do come from interior Sindh, especially during bakra season."
Wrong. Most of the animals come from Punjab, Baluchistan and from India via Khokhra Par during Eid's holiday. This year the prices were sky high and many people could not be able to offer Qurbani. Interior Sindh's share is only 20-25%.
Milk in Karachi is now sold at Rs. 40-50 per kilo, mixed with gutter water. People mostly buy "Nestle" made in Lahore Milk, which is also very expensive. My idea of Karachi Man-Dung is still valid and viable.

Most of the animals tend to have Sindhi owners, and I don't think they are from "Punjab, Baluchistan and from India via Khokhra Par.
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
Kehkeshan,
"No animals in Karachi? Have you ever even been to Karachi? "
Yes I saw no animals roaming in Karachi. However if you mean "Bhatta Receivers", they were every where.

Again wrong. All "bhains colonies" in Karachi are owned by non-Sindhis. 'Nagori' is very old and biggest supplier of milk in Karachi owned by Punjabi. Next time when you go to Karachi just investigate. There may be one or two small colonies that too exist out skirts of Karachi, own by sindhis, but this does not constitute majority.

Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
My dear Farid the price of milk in Karachi is Rs.32-34 per litre. Beside Nagories, Aga Khanis own a lot of milk farms in Karachi's Gadap area. These Aga Khanis inherit this business from Gujarat India.
The price of pasteuised milk - Nestle', Haleeb and Oplers ranges between 36-40 per litre.
I am sorry to say that people from sindh are not laborous. They always only look for easy governement jobs. We see people from all over the country coming to Karachi and working hard. Even when I travel inside Sindh, I see road side dhaba hotels are being mostly run by pushtoon people. Sindhi people just waste their time watching TV in such dhaba hotels. Noone has stopped sindhi people in establishing milk farms here. The balouch people living in Karachi's Gadap, Malir, Memon Goth and Darsano Chunno are really hardworking guys - they supply fresh vegetables and fruits to Karachi - matar, moli, mirch, baigan, tori, papaeeta, amrood, cheeko, gawar, gobi, palak etc etc.
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
Cow dung is total bullsh!t!
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
How did this go from electricity generation to a debate over who owns the cattle?
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!

You should say Bullsh!t Electricity.
Re: Energy from Dung in Karachi?!
Mostar95,
Agreed with what you are saying. That price of milk is the price fixed by Mustafa Kamal of Karachi but when you go to buy from milk shop, you pay the price what I had quoted. The point I was arguing that milk suppliers in Karachi were mostly non-Sindhis, which you had also proved that. Your allegation that Sindhis not being laborious is debatable. You can not stereotype only one community. This kind of attitude you can find in every community. Sindhis being less literate, get an axe from everywhere.

There are plenty of chopayas in Karachi and rest of Pakistan, therefore we never have any shortage of BS.

are you saying that as an average sindhis are less laborous than non sindhis? do you have any empirical data for that?
If so..what is the root cause, is it lack of education. lack of opportunity, lack of motivation compared to others, what is it?

ZA Bhutto, AK Brohi, JA Rahim, Dr Hameeda Khurro are just a few examples of hard working achievers.
Reason why u saw other ethnic people working in Sindh also has to do with Sindhi hospitality, peace loving life style and big heart.
