My exercise and diet is making me sluggish and tired, which in turn makes me crave sugar and carbs!!! I do eat 3 meals and 2 snacks thru out the day but still notice the energy getting low, so what else can I take instead (no caffeine)? i eat fruit…someone suggested nuts, arent those fattening? and also, does anyone know if those amino energy powders work? im talking bout the optimum nutrition one…

don't know what optimum nutrition is but in terms of what asked about nuts almonds(not roasted) are good for you they do give you energy, a handful of almonds doesn't do any harm.
have you ever tried whey protein? i make a fruit, spinach shake using it and it helps with energy and weight maintenance for me

I’m using OP’s Complete Protein Diet in Double chocolate, its not bad at all wen mixed in water, I guess some people use milk. I have it twice a day - lunch and then post workout. I can definitely see results especially with exercise, also its very filling. You wont feel hungry and my problem time was dinner, id crave carbs…so once i work out in the evening i have my shake and im good. I began Amino energy in Fruit fusion, its by OP and its helping a lot with energy plus a good change from plain water. The concoction goes down surprisingly easy and is unbelievably energizing.
Ingredients:
Spinach
Apple
blueberries/banana/strawberries/pineapple(or any fruit you have at home)
vanilla flavored whey protein
Lemon
Ginger
Parsley
Directions when you add only a little of the spinach you hardly taste it, the fruit takes over in terms of taste. i even add a little kale or broccoli, just so i can get all the greens in my body without actually tasting them
Juice all the items and combine. I drink it at least once a day before a hard workout.it tastes something similar to the naked fruit drink but add whey protein and it really energizes plus it was the only thing i depend on when i gain 1 or 2 pounds, it's like a quick fat burner when exercise is done along with drinking it, nothing else works as good.

I am not one to take diet pills and I know you said no caffeine pills but what about a cup of coffee?
I drink black coffee before my workouts.

And Reha, one of my gfs also drinka cup of coffee before her workout and it works great for her. Thank you for the suggestion, I should try that as well.

Yes, pretty much that. Lots of proteins, veggies, whole wheat carbs and legumes (lentils, beans etc).

The Energy booster and energy drinks never make your life healthy and to have this you should take fresh fruits and vegetables and you will definitely feel the better results in few days.
