what is this …the story is, my dad had one since 1988 and he was promised, on paper, he would get 60,000 after 25 years. but now they are giving only 37000. also they did write a few times and say there was a chance he would not get his full amount an gave him time before to complain,.however now they are saying its time-barred. any help? WHAT can he do.

Er, nothing. Endowment policies never ‘promise’ a set return. And they did write to your father to tell him that his investment wasn’t doing as well as anticipated. There’s nothing that he can do other than to accept the 37K.
